Lafayette College: Assistant Strength and Conditioning coach Spencer Brown has accepted the Director of Strength and Conditioning position at Moravian College. Lafayette has filled the vacancy by hiring Steve Plunkett as assistant strength coach. Plunkett previously worked with Velocity Sports Performance.

Seattle University: Seattle University is seeking applications for a Graduate Assistant for Strength & Conditioning- in Olympic Sports. Applicants must be highly motivated, organized, have good interpersonal skills, and have a strong desire to pursue a career as a strength and conditioning coach. Applicants will assist the head strength and conditioning coach design and implement strength and conditioning programs for 14 intercollegiate athletic teams. Previous experience in program design, teaching Olympic lifts in a collegiate strength and conditioning setting, and SCCC, USAW, or CSCS certified is required. Duties include but not limited to: assist in the day to day cleaning, maintenance, and operation of the athletic performance center; effectively work and communicate with staff and coaches; and participate in educational sessions for student-athletes and coaches. The position is a 10-month position (August 1-May 31) with a $15,000 stipend. Benefits also include continuing education opportunities and potential additional summer pay. UAB: University of Alabama at Birmingham. Graduate Assistant Strength/Conditioning Coach. This position works directly with the Assistant Athletic Director for Strength and Conditioning. Responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting in the implementation of designated sports. Opportunity to develop and implement comprehensive programs for Division I sport teams. Teach, demonstrate, and supervise proper techniques in the use of weight training and conditioning exercises. Test and evaluate all parameters of athleticism. Monitor and manage weight training facility. Qualifications include undergraduate degree in fitness related field. Previous sports participation and CSCS, CSCCa or USAW certification preferred but not required. Understanding of free weight training exercises including Olympic lifting. Experience with plyometrics and speed development. Self-motivated, good communication skills, and hard working individual. Jacksonville University: Football Strength and Conditioning Director Cole Pope has resigned to pursue private business opportunities.

North Carolina: We hear that Lou Hernandez has been hired as head strength and conditioning coach. Hernandez has spent the past seven seasons at Illinois and also worked with Larry Fedora during their time together at Florida.

Denver Broncos: Jason George has been brought on staff to serve as an assistant strength and conditioning coach. George was an assistant with the Jags last season in a similar capacity.

Oakland Raiders: Al Miller has accepted the head strength and conditioning position with the Raiders. Miller has spent 21 years as a strength coach at the NFL level. We hear that Miller has hired Louisiana Monroe's head strength coach John Greico to serve as assistant strength coach.

FAU: The FAU Strength and Conditioning Staff is looking for qualified interns for the 2012 summer semester. This is an unpaid position lasting the duration of the summer semester (May 14 – August 7). Interns will work primarily with our football team but will get the opportunity to assist with many of our other sports teams. This internship allows for actual coaching and assisting in day to day activities involved in the development of athletes. Applicants must be currently enrolled or a graduate of an Exercise Science or related program, course credit may be fulfilled with this internship. Applicants must possess a strong work ethic, good leadership ability, and communication skills. Interns will also be required to complete weekly assignments designed to assist in the development of program design and implementation.
