Washington State: We have learned that Casey Kramer will join the staff as assistant strength coach. Kramer, a former Boston College assistant, is currently the strength coach for the 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne).

Montana: The University of Montana is currently accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant position in its Strength and Conditioning program for the 2012-13 and 2013-14 academic years.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting the strength and conditioning coaches with the design and implementation of sport-specific strength, speed, and agility programs; weight room supervision; daily upkeep and maintenance of equipment; they will be assigned their own sports and any other duties as assigned.  The Graduate Assistant position is a two-year assignment beginning with the 2012-13 academic.  This is an educational position.  As such, the successful candidate must continue to make academic progress to graduate in the 2 year term. This may include academic checks with faculty during the course of the 2 years. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or a related field and acceptance into a University of Montana graduate program. Preferred qualifications: Internship experience with a collegiate program; CSCS and USAW certifications. Females and minorities are encouraged to apply. SMU: (Spring internship needed immediately) Assist the Southern Methodist University, Sports Performance staff in the day-to-day operations in the weight room. Duties will include but are not limited to; assist the sports performance staff in the implementation of strength and conditioning programs for 16 varsity sports, instruction of safe and proper execution of all facets of athletic development, and assist in the maintenance and upkeep of the facility. Spring interns will work primarily with Football, Men’s and Women’s soccer, swimming, tennis, volleyball, and equestrian. Qualifications: Must have or be pursuing a Bachelors in exercise science or a related field.  Experience in a collegiate setting, and a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning coach at the collegiate level.  Person must be able to have good computer skills.   Upon successful completion of this internship, one should possess and demonstrates the required abilities to advance in the field of Strength and Conditioning.  Compensation: This is an unpaid position. Jacksonville Jaguars: We hear that former UNC head strength coach Tom Myslinski will be named to the same post for the Jags. 

Univ. of Incarnate Word (San Antonio, TX): We hear the head strength job is open at UIW.

Fresno State: After briefly accepting the head strength position at San Diego State, Joey Boese has decided to take the head strength and conditioning position with Tim DeRuyter. Boese was at Texas A&M prior to accepting the position with San Diego State.

South Carolina: Head strength coach Craig Fitzgerald has stepped down (we hear he's taking the same role at Penn State). Assistant Joe Connolly will be promoted to head strength coach. 

Penn State: We have been told that head strength coach John Thomas has been relieved of his responsibilities. 

Frostburg State: Interim head strength and conditioning coach Kyle Linhart has been promoted to full time head strength coach.

Washington State: Boston College head strength coach Jason Loscalzo is joining Mike Leach's staff in the same capacity. 

Colorado State: Appalachian State strength coach Mike Kent has been named strength and conditioning coach at Colorado State. McElwain has also added Rashad Harris as an assistant strength coach. Harris was an assistant coach / strength coach at Saint Xavier HS (Louisville, KY) last season.
