Tulane: Tulane University Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applications for 2014 intern positions (semester or yearly). Positions are open for those interested in gaining experience in the field of strength and conditioning. The program can be tailored to an intern’s education, experience, and future professional goals. Job Description: Assist the strength and conditioning staff in all day-to-day operations of the Tulane University varsity weight rooms. Duties will include but are not limited to; assisting staff in the implementation of strength and conditioning programs for the Olympic sports, set up, and breakdown of training equipment and assisting in the maintenance and upkeep of the facility. Qualifications: Pursuing or have already completed Bachelors or Master’s Degree in exercise science or a related field. Experience in a collegiate setting, and a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning coach at the collegiate level. Certification or working towards certifications with the NSCA-CSCS, CSCCA, and/or USAW. Compensation: This is an unpaid position. Samford (AL): Samford University Department of Strength and Conditioning is now accepting applications for Strength and Conditioning VOLUNTEER INTERNS. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to; assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs for Football and all Olympic Sports, bringing fire and passion to the workplace day in and day out, assisting in creating the best and most productive training environment for our student athletes, and assist in creating a competitive training atmosphere. Iowa: The University of Iowa Olympic Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applications for Fall 2014 intern positions. Job Description: Assist the Olympic strength and conditioning staff in all day-to-day operations of the University of Iowa varsity weight rooms. Duties will include but are not limited to; assisting staff in the implementation of strength and conditioning programs for 23 varsity sports (this does not include football), set up, and breakdown of training equipment and assisting in the maintenance and upkeep of the facility. Wisconsin-Whitewater (D-III): University of Wisconsin – Whitewater: Strength & Conditioning Intern/Assistant for 2014-15 Academic year (Aug. 15 – May 15). This is a paid assistantship which includes a $9,500 stipend. Duties: Assist S & C staff with all aspects of training for all varsity sports (not just football). Design workouts for specific teams as assigned by S & C Coach. Provide leadership and instruction in the athletic development of student athletes to include skill analysis, teach proper technique and adapt workouts to match each sports specific need. Provide encouragement, motivate, and give feedback to student athletes to ensure maximum development of athletic potential. Assist with outside activities as assigned by S & C Coach. Job Requirements: BS/BA in a related field. Certification from nationally recognized organization (CSCS, USAW etc.) Previous experience as a collegiate athlete or training athletes. North Texas: The University of North Texas - Department of Strength and Conditioning is accepting applicants for a Strength and Conditioning Internship. UNT is searching for aspiring strength and conditioning interns for the 2014 FALL semester (8/18 – 12/ 12). Thomas (GA): Thomas University Strength and Conditioning Department is seeking qualified applicants to fill (2) Graduate Assistant positions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: design and implementation of sport specific strength and conditioning programs for assigned teams; demonstration and instruction of Olympic weightlifting techniques; supervise during team workouts, individual workouts, and open hours; assist with the maintenance and upkeep of the facility. Pepperdine (FCS - CA): Pepperdine University's Strength and Conditioning Department is seeking non-paid interns to assist with teams during the fall semester. Other responsibilities will include helping with session set up and breakdown as well as completion of educational assignments designed to increase knowledge in the field. Applicants must have a strong willingness to learn, excellent organizational skills, and be able to work well in a group setting. CSCS or USAW is preferred, but not required.
