Montana State: Montana State University is currently accepting applications for 3 qualified and highly motivated individuals looking to further develop their skills in the field of strength and conditioning, through an UNPAID Internship for the 2014 summer and fall semester. Preferences of the candidate include the following: Pursuit of future career in strength and conditioning as demonstrated by pursuit of professional certifications (CSCS, CSCC, USAW) and/or continued pursuit of a degree in a sport science or related field, CPR/First Aid and AED certification. Vanderbilt: Vanderbilt University is accepting applications for Intern Sports Performance Coaches to contribute to the Vanderbilt Football Sports Performance Program. Qualified candidates will serve the Football program as a non-counted coach that will have the opportunity to observe all training sessions and assist with set-ups, breakdowns, spotting and additional administrative responsibilities. This is an unpaid opportunity. Required qualifications include achievement or current pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or related course of study in addition to certification in CPR/AED. This internship is expected to begin no later than Monday, April 28th 2014 and has the opportunity, based on evaluation, to extend throughout the entire 2014 football season. This is a full time position that entails assisting the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach with the implementation of all phases of the Strength and Conditioning programs for football. A Bachelor’s degree is required, Master’s degree preferred. Three years previous coaching experience is required (preferably at the collegiate level). Must be CSCCa, USAW or NSCA certified. Applicant must be able to teach all Olympic movements and squatting movements, experience in acceleration and speed development and have experience teaching them to large groups. UAB: Washington State assistant strength and conditioning coach SaJason Finley has accepted an assistant S&C position at UAB.
Stanford: Ryan Cidzik, director of strength and conditioning at Columbia, has accepted a position with the Stanford Sports Performance staff, working with the football team.
Southern Miss: The University of Southern Mississippi Strength and Conditioning department is seeking applicants to fill Volunteer internship positions for the 2014 Summer and/or Fall semesters. Daily responsibilities will include the following: 1. Assisting with supervision and implementation of strength training programs for various sports 2.Tending to daily maintenance of the training facilities 3. Northwest Missouri State (D-II): NW Missouri State University, a NCAA Division II member of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association Conference, is accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for the school year 2014 - 2015. Applicants must have a strong desire to pursue a career in strength and conditioning. NW Missouri State seeks qualified individuals preferably with collegiate experience to assist with all 12 Division - 2 varsity athletic sports and cheer squad. Primary responsibilities include assisting with the supervision and execution of training programs, assisting the strength staff in all phases of the program including upkeep of facility. Secondary responsibilities will be working with assigned sports. Qualifications include strong work ethic, punctual, and enthusiastic. Also prior weight room experience via previous coaching experience and/or a background as a competitive athlete. Bachelor's degree in a related field required. Tulsa: University of Tulsa Department of Athletic Performance is accepting applications for the Summer 2014 Athletic Performance Internship Program. This is an unpaid position. Intern responsibilities include: Assisting with the supervision of training programs; Assisting with daily administrative and maintenance items; Completion of various educational assignments during the internship. Intern qualifications include: Punctuality; Enthusiasm; Strong work ethic; Ability to volunteer a minimum of 40 hours per week. The internship begins June 4th , 2014 and ends July 31st, 2014. This is an unpaid position.
