Indiana State: The Indiana State Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applications for the Fall 2013 Athletic Strength and Conditioning Internship Program. Start Date: August 20th- End Date: December 6th This is an UNPAID position. QUALIFICATIONS: Punctuality, enthusiasm, strong work ethic, ability to work early mornings and late evenings. Internship is a commitment for the entire duration of the given semester. Bachelor’s Degree in exercise science or related field, or of senior status. RESPONSIBILITIES: Various daily coaching assignments. Daily facility and equipment cleaning and maintenance. Staff meetings – present weekly research articles to share with staff. Assist in overseeing supplement distribution. Weekly teaching sessions with strength and conditioning staff members. Final project or lecture to strength and conditioning staff on assigned topic. Assist with any duties or assigned tasks by fulltime staff. Idaho: Oregon State assistant strength coach Miles Gemberling has been named assistant strength and conditioning coach at Idaho.

Marshall: The Department of Strength and Conditioning (Olympic Sports) at Marshall University is accepting applications to fill Fall 2013 volunteer coaching positions. This is an un-paid volunteer position, but the coach will gain vital experience through performing daily responsibilities which include: assisting in the setup, implementation, and breakdown of team training sessions (12 intercollegiate sports); daily maintenance of the training environment; learning proper technique and others coaching skills critical to the profession. Candidates must be CPR/First Aid certified and actively pursuing a bachelor’s/master’s degree in exercise science or related field. Samford: Samford University Department of Strength and Conditioning is now accepting applications for (2) Strength and Conditioning VOLUNTEER INTERNS. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to; assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs for football and all Olympic Sports, teaching student athletes proper technique and equipment use, attending to the daily maintenance of the training facilities and participation in weekly projects and professional development throughout the internship program. Some candidates will have the opportunity to travel with various sports during the fall season. Compensation: Division 1 experience with earned recommendation for future career opportunities. NO MONETARY COMPENSATION WILL BE PROVIDED. North Carolina: The University of North Carolina Olympic Sports Strength and Conditioning is accepting applications for the Fall 2013 Athletic Development Internship Program. Campbell: Campbell University’s Strength and Conditioning Department is currently seeking qualified intern candidates for the Fall 2013 semester. Internship will begin August 19th and end December 6th. Intern responsibilities will consist of but are not limited to observation of strength coaches, setting up and breaking down of equipment for training sessions, maintenance responsibilities, data entry, clerical duties, active participation in projects and assignments throughout internship, and assisting strength coaches as needed during training sessions. Candidate must be willing to adhere to all university, Big South Conference, Pioneer Football League and NCAA regulations. Qualifications: Applicants must be certified or working toward certification with the NSCA (CSCS) or the CSCCa (SCCC). The successful candidate(s) must possess strong communication and motivational skills as well as the ability and commitment to work within the mission and purpose of Campbell University. Candidate must have a desire to learn more about the strength and conditioning profession, have knowledge of multi-joint strength movements, Olympic lifts, and basic knowledge of the human anatomy. Northern State (D-II - SD): Northern State University Strength and Conditioning Department is seeking two highly motivated candidates to fill Fall 2013 (September 2 – December 13) internship positions. Individuals will gain knowledge and experience in a Division II Collegiate Strength and Conditioning setting. Individuals will also have the opportunity to work with Football and all the Olympic Sports in a brand new 11,000 square feet facility. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: assisting with supervision and execution of strength and conditioning programs for various sports, attending to daily maintenance of training facilities, and professional development throughout internship program. Qualifications: Passionate about the Strength and Conditioning field, experience with Olympic weightlifting technique, and a good work ethic. La Salle (PA): La Salle University Athletic Department invites applications for the position of Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach. North Dakota State: The North Dakota State University Strength & Conditioning Department is actively seeking applicants for two paid internship positions (1 football, 1 Olympic sports) within our program for the 2013-14 academic year. These positions are for the entire school year will run from August to May. At the conclusion of the internship, candidates will have an opportunity to acquire a GA position within our program. Interns can expect to gain valuable, hands on experience in areas such as program design, exercise instruction, plyometric, speed and agility techniques, conditioning, facility and athlete management. Internship responsibilities will vary and will include various duties within the NDSU Strength & Conditioning Department. Hours will vary throughout the semester and may include early morning, late afternoon, or weekend hours. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a related field required, CSCS preferred. Minimum GPA: 3.0. Must have a strong desire to pursue a career in strength and conditioning, possess an excellent work ethic and have the ability to take initiative and be pro-active. Kennesaw State: Jeremy Gough, a member of the US Olympic Committe, has accepted the head strength and conditioning position.

Texas: The Longhorns have hired Denton Guyer strength and conditioning coach Bryan Kegans to an assistant strength position according to Adam Boedeker of the Denton Record-Chronicle.

Albright College (D-III - PA): Albright College (Reading, PA) is seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Strength & Conditioning Intern Coach to begin as soon as possible. Qualifications: BS degree in Exercise Science or related field required. Certification in CPR and First Aid required. Candidates with CSCS will be given preference. Duties: Work closely with the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach in developing intercollegiate athletes from 23 sports to reach their full athletic potential. Other duties include: designing specific S&C programs for each sport, setting workout schedules, implementing workouts, coaching athletes on proper technique, reporting testing results and other duties as assigned by the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach and the Athletic Director. Compensation: This intern position includes a $3,500 annual stipend paid over a ten month contract, free off campus housing, shared with two other coaches, each in own room), free utilities, and free meal plan in campus dining hall. A tuition waiver for Masters level classes in Education is also included. No health insurance or retirement benefits are included with this position. There is a firm one year commitment (August-May) required with this position. Dakota State (NAIA - SD): Dakota State University is taking applications for a Graduate Assistant Strength Coach. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs for various sports, attending to daily maintenance of the training facilities, and professional development throughout internship program and other duties as assigned. Bachelor’s degree and admission to Dakota State University’s Master of Education Technology graduate program is required. This program is ranked in the Top 3 in the Nation. Morehead State: Sources tell us that Yale University assistant strength coach Chris Fee has accepted the head strength job at Morehead State

UAB: UAB has a stength and conditioning internship available for the fall. DURATION: Aug. 12th, 2013 through Nov. 29th, 2013 COMPENSATION: Volunteer, UAB Gear RESPONSIBILITIES: Under administrative direction of the Assistant Athletic Director for Strength and Conditioning intern will assist strength & conditioning staff in the implementation of various strength & conditioning programs at the collegiate level. Full exposure and experience in the day-to-day operation of Division I S&C program. Expected to perform a wide variety of tasks that include: Various and assorted administrative duties Data management Weight room and equipment up-keep and maintenance Workout implementation and supervision Exercise Demonstration & Teaching Technique Pre-workout preparation Post-workout analysis Assistance with warm-ups, cool-downs, performance testing and tracking Supplement provision Research Projects Adhere to the rules and regulations of the NCAA, C-USA, and the policies and procedures of the University of Alabama at Birmingham. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be completing or have completed a degree in Exercise Science or related field. Ideally will have or be pursuing a CSCS, CSCCa or USAW certification. Texas A&M - Kingsville: Texas A&M - Kingsville is seeking to hire a head strength & conditioning coach / lecturer.
