Ole Miss: The University of Mississippi is accepting applications for a spring semester internship position that would work with the Football Strength and Conditioning Department. This is an unpaid position that is responsible for assisting the Ole Miss Strength and Conditioning Staff implement the off-season program and assist in all departmental functions. Required qualifications include completion or current pursuit of a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in an exercise science or related course of study and posses a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Potential candidates must also posses the ability to communicate and a have a strong work ethic. Western Michigan: The Department of Strength and Conditioning (Olympic sports) at Western Michigan University is seeking highly motivated candidates to fill the internship positions for the Spring of 2014. Upon completion of the spring internship, candidates will be considered for a GRADUATE ASSISTANT POSITION with the department that begins in the Fall of 2014. Daily responsibilities will include the following: 1. Assisting with supervision and implementation of strength training programs for various sports 2.Tending to daily maintenance of the training facilities 3.Learning the basics of Annual planning/programming. 4. Louisiana Monroe: The University of Louisiana at Monroe is seeking individuals for a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Spring 2014 semester. This position will begin in January 2014. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in an exercise science related field, previous coaching experience working with division 1 athletes, possess one or more of the following certifications (CSCS, SCCC, USAW), strong desire to become a collegiate strength and conditioning coach, admittance into the ULM graduate school. Stanford: Stanford University is accepting applications for volunteer intern coaches to contribute to the Football Sports Performance Program. Qualified candidates will serve the Football program as a non-counted coach that will have the opportunity to assist in all training sessions in compliance with NCAA rules. This unpaid opportunity provides coaching experience assisting the staff implement the individualized, comprehensive injury prevention and performance enhancement program for the Track & Field and Wrestling programs. Potential candidates must possess an enthusiastic spirit, strong character and demonstrate effective organization and communication skills. Required qualifications include achievement or current pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or related course of study in addition to current CPR/AED certification . This internship is expected to begin no later than Monday, January 6th 2014, and requires a 6-month time commitment. Individuals will gain knowledge and experience in a Division I Collegiate Strength and Conditioning setting. Individuals will also have the opportunity to work with all the Olympic sports that train out of Jervey weight room. It may fulfill course credit if necessary.
