Central Oklahoma: The University of Central Oklahoma is looking for highly motivated individuals for the graduate assistant position in the Strength & Conditioning Department for the 2013-14 school years. You must have completed a bachelor’s degree in an Exercise Science related field at an accredited college/university, have current CPR/AED certification, be knowledgeable in the Olympic and power lifts, and have a strong desire to pursue a career in strength and conditioning. Preferred qualifications: previous internship in collegiate weight room, college athletic experience, and one of the following certifications; CSCS, SCCCa, or USAW. North Carolina Central: North Carolina Central University’s Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting volunteer (UNPAID) strength and conditioning coaches to work with Football and Olympic sports. Must have completed or are working toward completing a bachelors degree at an accredited college/university; Must stay the entire summer and volunteer a minimum of 20 hours per week; Knowledgeable in exercise physiology and biomechanics; Must have a current CPR/AED certification. Mount St. Mary's (MD): Mount St. Mary’s University is seeking applications for a Strength and Conditioning Internship in the Department of Athletics for the Fall 2013 and Spring 2014 semesters. Candidates who will be receiving course credit will be given preference. This is an unpaid position, living and transportation arrangements will not be provided. If chosen for this position you will receive Division I experience with a variety of Olympic sports, be educated on training philosophy, and gain experience designing and implementing programs for select Olympic sports. Montana: The University of Montana Department of Athletic Performance is accepting applications for the Summer 2013 Athletic Performance Internship Program. This is an unpaid position. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the strength and conditioning staff with the implementation of sport specific strength, speed, agility, flexibility, mobility, and conditioning programs for all sports. Team responsibilities will include 3 teams, football, as well as Men’s Basketball or Women’s Basketball, and Women’s Soccer or Volleyball. San Diego (FCS): The University of San Diego Sports Performance Department is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of VOLUNTEER INTERN Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Fall Semester. Required qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and CSCS credential from the NSCA. Successful candidate must have a strong desire to be involved in strength and conditioning at the collegiate level, while displaying excellent communication skills and excellent organizational skills. Position requires a commitment from August 26, 2013 to December 13, 2013. This is an unpaid position and does not include a stipend. Duties include assisting with the implementation of training programs for all sports and the successful candidate will be assigned his/her own sports, as capable. The internship will be tailored to an intern’s education, experience and future goals. The internship will provide experience working with a highly competitive Division I Athletics program and give the successful candidate the opportunity to earn recommendations for future career opportunities. Villanova: Villanova Strength and Conditioning Department is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individuals for a 12 month paid internship position. The 12 month internship will begin June 1, 2013 and end May 31, 2014. The position will include a $1000/month stipend along with health insurance and meals. Individuals will have opportunities to earn extra income through on Campus programs and events. Individuals selected will receive an all encompassing and unique experience working with both Football and Olympic sports. This position will have responsibilities of an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach with daily responsibilities including but not limited to the following: program design for teams; managing the nutrition bar; design and implementation of volunteer intern program and curriculum; monitoring, cleaning, and organizing the sports performance facility; assisting head strength and conditioning coaches for Football and Olympic Sports in all aspects of the sports performance program. Requirements: Qualified applicants must have a bachelor’s degree and must obtain one of the following certifications: CSCS, SCCC, PES, USAW. Prior internship experience is also required.
