Butler: Butler University is looking for a VOLUNTEER PART-TIME Intern for the Fall Semester. Individual should possess AT LEAST a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or a related field. Preferred candidates should have a credible certification from a recognized organization (NSCA, CSCCA, USA-W) as well as current first-aid and CPR. Proficiency with Olympic lifts is STRONGLY ENCOURAGED. Candidates must have a strong desire to be A COLLEGIATE strength coach and possess a strong character and work ethic. Hours would typically be in the mornings from 6-10am Monday-Friday with no weekend responsibilities. Individual will assist Strength Staff in the day to day operations of the facility, implementation of strength and conditioning programs for various sports and will be given assignments throughout the semester to ensure development. Class credits may apply based on your curriculum’s standards. NO MONETARY, HOUSING, OR MEAL compensation will be provided but we will do our best to help candidate find outside work to help with costs. Ole Miss: The Department of Strength and Conditioning (Olympic Sports) at the University of Mississippi is now accepting VOLUNTEER internship applications for the spring semester. This is an unpaid position. Responsibilities include assisting with supervision of training programs, assisting with daily facility maintenance, and all other departmental functions. Intern qualifications: Punctuality; Strong communication skills; Strong work ethic; Ability to follow directions. Marshall: The Marshall University Strength and Conditioning Department (Olympic Sports) is seeking motivated individuals to fill 1-2 volunteer coach positions for the Fall 2014 Semester. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Setup, breakdown, and implementation of training programs for 12 intercollegiate teams and assisting with the maintenance and upkeep of the equipment and facility. This is an unpaid position, but the candidate will gain critical experience working and learning in a Division I setting. The internship will begin August 18th, 2014 and will end December 12th, 2014. Wentworth Institute of Technology: The Wentworth Institute of Technology located in Boston MA, Sports Performance Department is accepting applications for fall 2014 intern/volunteer positions. Positions are open for those interested in gaining experience in the field of strength and conditioning. The program can be tailored to an intern’s education, experience, and future professional goals. Job Description: Assist the Director of Sports Performance in all day-to-day operations of the Nelson Recreational Center. Duties will include but are not limited to; assisting staff in the implementation of strength and conditioning programs for all , set up, and breakdown of training equipment and assisting in the maintenance and upkeep of the facility. Western Oregon: Western Oregon University is looking to hire a part-time sports performance coach that will work under the direction of the Director of Sports Performance. This position will be responsible for all facets of implementing strength and conditioning programs for sports TBD, as well as assist the Director with a variety of sports. The candidate will be required to provide a safe lifting environment, proper lifting and spotting technique, as well as speed development instruction. Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science or related field, Master's Preferred. UConn: The University of Connecticut Sports Performance Department is accepting applications for volunteer football interns for Spring 2015. This gratis position offers Division I experience and training in an educational environment and the opportunity of advancement in the field of strength and conditioning. Responsibilities will include: assist the Football Strength and Conditioning staff in the supervision and training of UConn’s Division I intercollegiate football program; assist with daily administrative, cleaning and maintenance duties; assist in the set-up and break-down of equipment for every workout; and participate in weekly projects and assignments for the duration of the internship.
