Samford: Samford University Department of Strength and Conditioning is now accepting applications for Strength and Conditioning VOLUNTEER INTERNS. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to; assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs for all Sports, teaching student athletes proper technique and equipment use, attending to the daily maintenance of the training facilities and participation in weekly projects and professional development throughout the internship program. Compensation: Division 1 experience with earned recommendation for future career opportunities. NO MONETARY COMPENSATION WILL BE PROVIDED. Candidates must have a strong work-ethic and have a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree or be in the last semester of coursework for undergraduate degree in exercise physiology or related field of study. Certification from one or more of the following (NSCA, CSCS; CSCCA, SCCC; USAW) are preferred. CSCCa mentorship program will be available for candidates seeking to obtain the SCCC certification. Western Kentucky: Western Kentucky University’s Football Sports Performance Department is currently seeking qualified volunteer / internship candidates for the 2016 Summer. The Summer Program will run from June 3rd – August 5th (dates are flexible). This is an unpaid position, no monetary compensation will be provided. The Summer Internship Program will have the possibility to make some extra money assisting in Summer Camps. CPR/AED Certification will be REQUIRED before the start date of the position. Applicants should be pursuing a bachelors or master’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field. Applicants should be certified or working toward one of the following certifications: CSCS, SCCC, and USAW. Responsibilities will consist of assisting the staff with the implementation of the strength & conditioning programs for Western Kentucky Football. Interns are expected to perform a variety of tasks that include: weight room/equipment up-keep and maintenance, pre-workout set-up, post-workout clean-up, supplement provision, research to enhance personal development and field related projects. Florida State: Florida State University OLYMPIC Strength and Conditioning Department is seeking applicants for the 2016 Fall Semester Internship Program. After candidate selection, interns will be responsible for weekly presentations to the full-time staff and weekly reading/research assignments. Interns will sit in on weekly staff presentations and participate in hands-on sessions directed by the strength staff. The subject matter includes weekly discussions and projects over assessing your athletes and pre-session readiness, understanding different models and methods of periodization and programming, resistance training variables, movement classification and selection, Olympic lifting, energy system development, power training, linear speed development, and other various topics. Responsibilities for the internship also include session set-up and breakdown, cleaning and upkeep of facility, spotting and working with specified student-athletes and/or small groups. These positions are on a volunteer basis and can fulfill class credit if necessary. If these positions are not economically feasible, please do not apply. Pace (D-II – NY): The Pace University Strength and Conditioning Department is looking to hire two, part-time assistant strength and conditioning coaches. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to designing and implementing the strength program for 2-3 teams within the athletic department and other duties with teams as necessary. Additional duties include 10-15 hours a week overseeing student weight room. This is an hourly position with expected compensation to be $12,000 over a ten month period. Anticipated start date is August 1st. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: CPR/AED certification, Bachelor’s Degree, Nationally recognized strength and conditioning certification (CSCS, SCCC, USAW etc.), and a strong desire to pursue a career as a strength and conditioning coach. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree related to Exercise Science, previous college athletics playing experience, 1-2+ years strength and conditioning experience.
