Florida Atlantic: a NCAA Division 1 institution and member of the Sun Belt Conference invites those interested in pursuing a career in Strength and Conditioning to apply for a summer semester internship with the Strength and Conditioning Department. Potential interns will acquire valuable experience and knowledge while being a positive asset to FAU and its student-athletes.  Upon successful completion of this internship, one should posses and demonstrate the required abilities to advance in the field of Strength and Conditioning. Duties: Assist Strength and Conditioning staff with the implementation of strength training, conditioning and speed programs designed for 17 varsity teams, weight room upkeep, equipment maintenance and other duties assigned by the full time staff members. There will be an opportunity to have responsibility over 1 or more sports teams TBD by your comprehension, prior experience, knowledge and skill level. Qualifications: Potential interns must be self motivated and possess a strong interest in becoming a Strength and Conditioning Coach.  Candidates should have prior weight room experience via previous coaching experience and/or a background as a competitive athlete. In addition, candidates should be pursuing or just completed a Bachelors or Masters degree in exercise science or a related field a well as working towards a certification with the CSCCa or NSCA. Compensation: Class credit toward graduation requirements, valuable experience and knowledge and earned recommendation to pursue the next step in your career. Adams State College: (Colorado) is currently accepting applications for the position of Graduate Assistant Strength & Conditioning. Responsibilities include developing and monitoring strength training programs for varsity athletic teams, instructing proper lifting technique and speed development, testing and evaluating physical performance, and overseeing operation and general maintenance of varsity weight room activities as assigned by the Director of Strength & Conditioning. Required Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science, CSCS, experience in performing/teaching OIympic lifts, experience performing,
writing, monitoring, and coaching athletic training programs for a multitude of athletes. Preferred Qualifications: USAW certification, experience in intercollegiate athletics. Graduate Assistants receive full tuition waiver, and must be enrolled full-time in Human Performance & Phys. Ed Master's Program. The Citadel: The Military College of South Carolina, a Division 1 member of the Southern Conference, is currently seeking a Graduate Assistant Strength & Conditioning [S&C] Coach.  Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Serve as S&C Coordinator for women's soccer & volleyball, assist with the implementation of the annual football training program, properly demonstrate all movements and drills associated with S&C program, thoroughly communicate with Sport Coaches and Sports Medicine Staff regarding injuries and progress, participate in the daily upkeep of the S&C facility.  Requirements include: the desire to become a full time S&C professional, a Bachelor's Degree in related field, experience coaching athletes in a team setting (preferably at the college level), proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, & Power Point, strong communication & organizational skills, certification through a recognized S&C certifying agency is preferred [NSCA, NASM, USAW, CSCCA, ISSA].  Compensation will be tuition coverage for up to 2 classes per semester, meals, text books, Division 1 coaching experience, and an earned recommendation towards future employment.  No stipend included; part time work opportunities will be available.  Candidates must be committed to earning a master's degree. West Texas A&M University: is a NCAA Division II Institution competing in the Lone Star Conference. WT is located in Canyon, TX 15 minutes from Amarillo.  During the 2009-2010 school year WT won several LSC conference titles and qualified for NCAA post-season in multiple sports. Position Description: Assist Head Strength and Conditioning Coach with supervision and implementation of performance enhancing programs for 14 varsity teams. This position will be responsible for design and implementation of strength, power, speed, agility and conditioning programs for teams as assigned by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Assist with the implementation for other teams not in direct supervision of.  Work in conjunction with the athletic trainers to rehabilitate injuries and implement injury prevention protocols.  Other day to day duties include supervising student interns, communication with sport coaches, as well as maintenance and upkeep of the weight room. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or related field required. Either posses or working toward certification in one or all of the following organizations certifications, CSCCa-SCCC, NSCA-CSCS, USAW, CPR/AED certification. Previous collegiate athletic experience preferred.  Acceptance into WT graduate program is required as well as completion of the GRE.  Applicant must possess good organizational and communication skills, have a strong interest in becoming a strength coach, a self starter, hard working and have the ability to demonstrate and teach all lifts, including Olympic movements. Compensation: $10,000 stipend (Stipend becomes $9,000 with $500 each semester used to as the out of state tuition waiver.) Mississippi State University: Mississippi State University Strength & Conditioning Department is seeking applications for the position of Graduate Assistant Strength to the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. The daily responsibilities will include:  Assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs. Teaching student athletes proper techniques and equipment use.  Attending to the daily maintenance of the training facilities.  Some weekend work will be required.  Qualifications: Must have a strong work-ethic and have a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Must have a bachelors degree and a certification from one of the following.
