Ball State: Ball State Football Strength and Conditioning has openings for 2 interns for the 2012 Spring Semester. The dates for the semester are January 17th-April 28th.  This is an unpaid internship.  These individuals will get to coach at the Division 1 level while earning credit hours toward their CSCCa certification. There is a weekly work requirement of 30 hours.  Applicants must have their CPR and First Aid certification upon arrival, and must be working toward their CSCS, USAW, and/or their CSCCa certification.  Resumes will be collected until October 28th. Missouri: The University Of Missouri Department Of Athletic Performance is now accepting applications for the position of Volunteer Intern with 2 positions available.  Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  assistance of supervision for daily activities, set up and break down for daily activities, routine maintenance, weekly projects and reports, and assistance with execution of workout design and implementation for various sports.  There is no monetary compensation provided, however, there will be opportunities for professional development.  All prospective interns are expected to have outstanding work ethics and attention to detail.   Certified individuals are preferred, but it is not a requirement. Tennessee: The University of Tennessee is a proud member of the South Eastern Conference and has immediate openings for Spring 2012 intern positions. The intern positions begin in January and extend through April. This is an unpaid position. The candidate will receive Division I Intercollegiate experience, gear, internship manual, and earned recommendation toward further success as a Strength & Conditioning Coach. These successful candidates will be required to schedule and maintain a minimum of 30 hours per week with the Strength and Conditioning Department. The daily responsibilities will include: 1. Assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs for assigned teams. 2. Teaching student athletes proper lifting techniques and equipment use. 3. Attending to the daily maintenance of the training facilities. 4. Participation in internship curriculum. Utah State: Utah State University seeks two qualified candidates for graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach positions.  Candidates must have a strong desire to pursue a career in the field. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assist with all aspects of USU’s football program, oversee all aspects of assigned sports teams, assist with non-assigned sports teams when needed, and daily upkeep of strength and conditioning facility and equipment. Qualified candidates should have: a bachelor’s degree by May 2012, previous collegiate internship experience, and be working towards certification through the CSCCa and/or NSCA. Compensation for this position includes $10,000 a year, full tuition, books, and fees. Interested candidates need to send a cover letter, resume (with cumulative GPA and GRE and/or MAT overall and sectional scores), and five references to Head Strength and Conditioning Coach: Evan Simon at  The top five candidates for this position will be phone interviewed and then asked to apply for admission to the graduate exercise science program.  Appointment to these positions are dependent on admittance to Utah State University. The Start Date is August 1, 2012 with the possibility of starting earlier in June and or July.

Florida Atlantic: FAU, a NCAA Division 1 institution and member of the Sun Belt Conference invites those interested in pursuing a career in Strength and Conditioning to apply for a spring semester internship with the Strength and Conditioning Department. Potential interns will acquire valuable experience and knowledge while being a positive asset to FAU and its student-athletes. Upon successful completion of this internship, one should possess and demonstrate the required abilities to advance in the field of Strength and Conditioning. Duties: Assist Strength and Conditioning staff with the implementation of strength training, conditioning and speed programs designed for 17 varsity teams (including Football), weight room upkeep, equipment maintenance and other duties assigned by the full time staff members. There will be an opportunity to have responsibility over 1 or more sports teams TBD by your comprehension, prior experience, knowledge and skill level. Qualifications: Potential interns must be self-motivated and possess a strong interest in becoming a Strength and Conditioning Coach. Candidates should have prior weight room experience via previous coaching experience and/or a background as a competitive athlete. In addition, candidates should be pursuing or just completed a Bachelors or Master’s degree in exercise science or a related field as well as working towards a certification with the CSCCa or NSCA. We can provide the practicum/ mentorship experience required to obtain the SCCC certification through the CSCCa. Compensation: Class credit toward graduation requirements, valuable experience and knowledge and earned recommendation to pursue the next step in your career. Louisville: Intern - The University of Louisville Football Strength and Conditioning department is accepting internship applications for the Spring of 2012. The planned start dates for this internship will be January 5 (based upon availability) and will continue through the end of April. This is a full-time unpaid internship, responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting with the supervision and training of all Louisville Cardinal Football players, assisting with daily administrative and maintenance duties, and completion of various educational assignments during the internship are also required. Qualifications: All applicants must be highly motivated individuals looking to advance their career in strength and conditioning. Missouri State: Missouri State University Department of Strength & Conditioning  is currently accepting applications for internship opportunities for the Spring 2012 semester. The internships are unpaid, but we will make every effort to make sure that the internships meet the necessary curriculum for college credit. Duties will include assisting the Director & Assistant Director of Strength and Conditioning with all aspects of the strength & conditioning program including but not limited to: warm-up, strength, speed, agility, and conditioning for respective teams as well as maintenance and upkeep of two intercollegiate facilities. Candidates must have a strong desire to be a strength & conditioning coach.
