Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo: strength & conditioning department is now accepting applications for a paid (hourly) internship.  The department sponsors 19 sports at the Division I and Division 1AA (Football) level.  Under supervision of the Head Strength and Conditioning coach, the Strength and Conditioning Intern will assist in comprehensive sport performance training programs for student-athletes.  Intern responsibilities include (not limited to):  1. design and implement strength and conditioning programs for assigned teams, 2. coach training sessions in acceleration, agility, maximum velocity, strength & power, 3. manage, maintain, and clean training facility, 4. University of Iowa: Our sources tell us that Iowa director of strength & conditioning JC Moreau has resigned his position at Iowa to pursue an opportunity with a consulting company.

New Mexico Military Institute: Our sources tell us The Citadel grad assistant Brian Tracz has accepted an assistant strength job at New Mexico Military.

Eastern Illinois: Our sources tell us grad assistant Chris Neville has been promoted to full-time assistant strength coach.

University of North Texas: is looking for qualified candidates to fill Fall Internships for 2011. This position is an unpaid internship with the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in a Division 1 program as well as earn college credit if necessary. Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, etc, or completing degree requirements for graduation. Akron: Graduate Assistant – The University of Akron Strength and Conditioning for football is accepting applications for Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach Position. This position will assist in all day-to-day facets of training for football and upkeep of the facility. A Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or a related degree is required. Applicants must be admissible to graduate school in the area of sports science and wellness of sports science and coaching at The University of Akron. Certifications in one or more of the following is preferred, but not required: SCCC, CSCS, USAW. Compensation will be $10,000 for a 12 month contract and tuition waiver.
