University of North Dakota: The University of North Dakota is currently accepting applications for Spring 2012 volunteer interns. We are looking for individuals with a strong work ethic, punctual, enthusiastic and a desire for the strength and conditioning field. Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to: assisting strength and conditioning staff in all facets of implementation of training programs, aid in the instruction of safe and proper weight training techniques, assisting with daily administrative duties, participate in educational projects and assignments, assist in the regular maintenance of the facilities. The successful applicant will receive hands on coaching experience at the Division 1 level as well as any applicable college credit. University of Connecticut: Seeking candidates for strength and conditioning graduate assistant. Qualifications: Prospective students must be a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) from the NSCA or eligible to sit for the certification examination. Students must be admissible in non-provisional status to the University of Connecticut Graduate School. A minimum GPA of 3.0 and a minimum score of 1100 on the GRE exam are required for applying. Job Description: Performance of the duties of a strength and conditioning coach under the supervision of the full-time department staff. This position will provide positive coaching in order to enhance the sport performance of Division I student-athletes in the Division of Athletics. Working experience and familiarity is required with current academic research in strength and conditioning such as periodization of strength training and power and speed development. This position will apply research information to coaching strategies in order to enhance sport performance and to assist in the prevention of injuries. This position will provide assistance to the full-time strength staff as well as assume responsibility for developing programs and coaching principles for our teams. Graduate Programs: Applicants can choose to earn a degree from any academic program whose requirements allow the applicant to fulfill the demanding duties of this GA position. We strongly recommend the Strength and Conditioning program that is offered through the Kinesiology Department. Start Date: August 23, 2012 ­- May 22, 2013. Benefits: This appointment is for a full-time Graduate Assistant and is contingent upon your full time registration (6 credits or more).  Benefits include a $19,383.73 stipend, full tuition and book waiver, and full medical benefits.
