UMass: UMASS Football Strength & Conditioning is accepting applications for Summer 2013 Strength and Conditioning Internships in Amherst, MA. Applicants must be highly motivated, with a tremendous work ethic. Essential tasks include aiding the strength and conditioning coach in developing and administering strength and conditioning programs for football, teaching proper lifting techniques, maintain and clean the athletic weight room. This is a non-paid position. Interns will have the opportunity to gain credit towards graduation, if applicable, as well as professional experience in the field ofstrength & conditioning. Valdosta State: Valdosta State University Strength and Conditioning Department is seeking two eager and motivated applicants for Graduate Assistant positions. The assistantship will begin August 1, 2013. Individuals that are selected will have the opportunity to experience assisting the head strength and conditioning coach with football as well as implementing programs his /her assigned sports. Responsibilities include assisting the head strength and conditioning coach with design and implementation of sport programs. Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to: monitoring, cleaning and organizing the facility. Applicants must be motivated to coach, written and verbal communication skills, as well as provide leadership. University of Mary (D-II - ND): The University of Mary Strength and Conditioning Department is seeking an applicant for Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. The successful candidate will assist with the implementation of sport-specific strength training programs for all sports and will be assigned his/her own sports, as capable. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting the head strength and conditioning coach with the design and implementation of sport-specific strength, speed, and agility programs; weight room supervision; daily upkeep and maintenance of equipment; communication with coaches and other duties as assigned by the head strength and conditioning coach. Western Carolina: WCU is currently seeking a qualified individual for its Spring/Summer 2013 strength and conditioning internship position. This is a paid position with an 11 month commitment at no more than 40 hours per week. Duties will include general equipment upkeep, weight room sanitation, computer work, game day responsibilities, and assisting in the supplementation program. Applicant requirements are as follows: must have a Bachelor of Science Degree with a concentration in Exercise Science/Nutrition or a related field current CPR/AED certification along with the NSCA – Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist Certification.
