Tulsa: University of Tulsa Department of Athletic Performance is accepting applications for the Spring 2014 Athletic Performance Paid Internship Position. Paid intern responsibilities include: Assisting with the supervision of training programs; Assisting with daily administrative and maintenance duties; Completion of various educational assignments. Paid Intern qualifications include: Punctuality; Enthusiasm; Strong work ethic; Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week. Preferred qualifications include: completion of a bachelor's degree in exercise science or related field; SCCC, CSCS, or USAW certification; CPR certification. South Alabama: The University of South Alabama Department of Strength & Conditioning is currently accepting applications for 3 full-time intern positions for the spring semester. Successful candidates can expect to work full time for the duration of the 16-week internship starting Jan. 9th. Application for the internship at the University of South Alabama should include a cover letter, resume, and have a bachelor’s degree or be a college senior at an accredited institution. Baylor: Baylor University Department of Athletic Performance is accepting applications for the Spring 2014 Nutrition Internship Program. This is an unpaid position. Intern responsibilities include: Assisting with the supervision and implementation of nutrition for Baylor athletics; Assisting with day to day nutrition tasks, administrative and maintenance items; Completion of various educational assignments during the internship. Intern qualifications include: Punctuality; Enthusiasm; Strong work ethic; Athletic background; Understanding of food service; Ability to volunteer a minimum of 40 hours per week. Illinois State: Illinois State University Sports Performance, an NCAA Division I institution, is seeking two full-time UNPAID interns for the spring 2014 semester. These internships will be assigned to either Olympic Sports or Football respectively. Full-time Interns must possess a strong work ethic, a desire to excel in the field of strength and conditioning and have a strong strength training background. Duties include, but are not limited to: assisting the Strength and Conditioning staff in developing and administering all phases of speed, strength and conditioning programs to 19 varsity sports. The individuals will serve as top assistants for select varsity sports as assigned by the Director of Sports Performance. Qualifications: Must be working towards a degree in the field of exercise science or similar. Individuals must possess or be working towards a CSCS, and additionally have the option of completing the internship practicum for the CSCCa Examination. Pepperdine: Pepperdine University is seeking qualified applicants for a paid part-time Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach for the 2013-2014 academic year. This position will start on November 1st and conclude at the end of the academic year. A minimum of 25 hours a week is required, though schedule must be flexible to meet the needs of the department. Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Physical Education, Kinesiology, or related program along with NSCA-CSCS, CPR & AED Certifications. Prior experience at the collegiate level or playing at the collegiate level preferred, but not required. Essential job functions for the position include, but are not limited to: Assisting the Director and assistant strength and conditioning coaches in developing and implementing strength, speed, agility, and conditioning programs for the University’s intercollegiate athletic teams; Assessing student-athletes' physical attributes to improve athletic performance; Designing and implementing programs for assigned teams; Maintaining weight rooms and equipment; Input of testing data and daily/weekly updating of speed, strength, and conditioning workouts; Provide discipline and motivation to student-athletes to excel and improve; Performing miscellaneous related duties when necessary.
