Wyoming: Wyoming is seeking a grad assistant strength and conditioning coach. Applicant must possess a strong knowledge of teaching technique of Olympic-style lifting exercises. Introduce and teach the objectives of each training phase to student-athletes. Nicholls State (FCS - LA): Nicholls State University, a NCAA Division 1 institution located in Thibodaux, Louisiana, invites applicants for one (1) graduate assistantship position. This position reports directly to the Director of Strength & Conditioning. Applicant will be responsible for design, implementation and supervision of strength, speed, agility, and conditioning programs for teams as assigned by the Director of Strength and Conditioning. They will also assist the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach with Football lifting and conditioning. The graduate assistantship is for the Fall 2013 and Spring 2014 semesters with consideration for contract renewal for the 2014-2015 school year. Contingent on acceptance into Nicholls State Graduate School by the Fall 2013 deadline. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Physical Education, Kinesiology, or related program. Georgia: The University of Georgia invites applications for the position of full time, 11 month Intern to the Strength and Conditioning Staff for Olympic Sports, no benefits. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required and Master’s Degree preferred in exercise physiology, physical education, or related field. Experience in the strength and conditioning field at the intercollegiate level either as an athlete, graduate assistant or a student coach is preferred, have experience with designing and implanting athletic performance programs. Solid knowledge of basic barbell lifts and Olympic lifts along with teaching techniques are a must- functional training skills are beneficial. CSCS or CSCCa and CPR certifications required; USAW Level I certification preferred, experience with functional testing (FMS) and training preferred. Murray State: Murray State University, is seeking qualified applicants for a (2) Interns / Volunteer Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach with Murray State at University Athletics for the 2012-2013 season. This is a 9 month, volunteer position that will begin on August 4th and end May 2nd (semester internships also available). There may be opportunities to make income through camps, clinics and also on-campus jobs. Internships are currently available for the 2013-2014 school year for graduate students or graduating seniors. This is a full-time position with competitive pay including full benefits. Portland State: Portland State University is looking for qualified applicants to fill 2 more full time internship positions for summer 2013, starting June 10th through September 6th. This is an unpaid internship working with football. Responsibilities include providing a high level of energy on the floor, coaching proper technique and motivating the athletes through off-season weight lifting and conditioning activities, maintenance and cleanliness of the weight room, research projects on various topics, as well as anything else the head football strength and conditioning coach needs assistance with. The applicant will receive valuable experience at the division I level as well as knowledge that will serve them in the field. Along with coaching in the weight room and on the field, there will be structured classroom times for further education. Requirements: Must be able to work full time and whenever you are needed, Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education (or related field) or in final semester, a valid CPR/First Aid certification, and a desire to be a successful strength and conditioning coach. Cal: Louisiana Tech's Damon Harrington has joined the staff as head strength and conditioning coach for the football program. Mike Blasquez, who oversaw strength and conditioning for the football program the past two seasons, is now the athletic department's director of strength and conditioning.
Northern State (D-II - SD): The Northern State University Department of Athletics is seeking qualified candidates for a Strength and Conditioning graduate assistant position for the 2013-2014 academic year. The position is for 11 months beginning in Aug 2013. Candidates must be accepted and enrolled in a fulltime graduate program at NSU when the GA appointment begins. Applicants interested in the position are eligible for renewal for a second year at the conclusion of the first year.
