Sumlin introduced at A&M

Texas A&M held a press conference yesterday to introduce Kevin Sumlin as the new head coach of the Aggie program.

Athletic director Greg Byrne said that Sumlin's contract is a 5 year deal worth about $2 million per year.

Sumlin was very direct and focused during the press conference, and voiced his intent on hitting the road to speak to recruits immediately following the opportunity to meet with his new players.

Schnellenberger video tribute

FAU released a great video earlier today highlighting the career of Howard Schnellenberger.

Schnellenberger has left a lasting legacy at each stop in his coaching career, from his time under Bear Bryant, to winning Super Bowl's under Don Shula, to his last coaching stop where he built the FAU program from the ground up.

The video shows Schnellenberger as a man that has built each program with integrity and passion, and his contributions to the coaching community are immeasurable.

Gary Andersen follows through on bet

Sunday afternoon Utah State coach Gary Andersen walked out of a tattoo parlor with some fresh ink, thanks to a bet that he made with the Aggies at the beginning of the year.

Andersen told the team that if they made a bowl game he would get a tattoo. Yesterday, he walked out of the tattoo parlor with the Utah State logo on the back of his shoulder with a bowl message inscribed below.

“I have to keep my promise to the kids, it’s a little weird having a tattoo, but this is well worth it. I love it.” Andersen said.

The Aggies finished the regular season 7-5, 5-2 in conference play, and will play Ohio (9-4, 6-3) in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl December 17th.
