A win never tasted so sweet

Our staff wanted to congratulate the staff at Olivet College (D3-Michigan) on picking up a 14-10 win against Kalamazoo yesterday.

After being down 10-0 at the half, the Comets came back to score all 14 of their points in the second half to end a 32 game losing streak that dates back to 2008.

The win gave Olivet their first conference win of the season, and they will be looking for win number two when they travel to Albion to take on the Britons this week.

Not Chip Kelly's typical post game interview

After the Oregon and Arizona state game last night, Chip Kelly had to remind a few students to quiet down.

After the Ducks 41-27 win, Kelly met Erin Andrews for the typical post game interview.

Just after the interview gets started, a few Oregon fans decided that they wanted their 15 seconds of fame.  In typical Kelly fashion, he turns and tells the rowdy group to quiet down.  We couldn't have said it better ourselves Chip.

High School:

Most surprising 1 loss teams

Most of the games are in the books and here's a quick look at some of the surprising 1 loss teams at this point. Thankfully for them, Clemson isn't in this group; because they fought all the way back and beat Maryland 56-45.

Rutgers and Louisiana Lafayette stand out to us as two of the most surprising 1 loss teams. Schiano's guys are nearly dead last in rushing offense; but yet have wins over North Carolina Central, Ohio, Syracuse, Pitt and Navy.  How have they done it?  Coming into today's game, they were #1 in turnover margin.  Hudspeth's guys at ULL are 6-1, 4-0 in conference. Their national rankings won't amaze you; but in conference they are 1st in scoring offense, 3rd in scoring defense and 1st in turnover margin.

USC and Washington are both 5-1 out west; but both are about to face some stiff competition over the next few weeks.

Some post game comments from Greg Schiano below.

Tweet of the night

Oklahoma State beat Texas today 38-26. This was the first time the Mack Brown has ever lost the week following their game vs. Oklahoma.

Mike Gundy certainly has his guys playing at a high level.

Tonight, we noticed a tweet from Brett McMurphy who covers college football for CBS.

Mike Gundy got win No. 40 Saturday since his "I'm a Man, I'm 40" rant. Before rant: 13-15. After: 40-14
