Notre Dame quietly 7-3

As we noted earlier in the year, the Irish have been able to get the job done on the ground this season.

We saw a tweet this morning saying that the Irish's 23 rushing touchdowns are 1 shy of their combined rushing total for the previous two seasons.

Running backs Cierre Wood and Jonas Gray have combined for 1,637 yards through ten games, and it's possible for the Irish to to end the season with two 1,000 yard rushers (Wood currently has 907 and Wood has 730). Clearly offensive line coach / running game coordinator Ed Warinner and running backs coach Tim Hinton have found what works for the Irish.

The ground attack is clearly working; but the passing game isn't struggling either (ND has 19 passing touchdowns, compared to 23 via the ground game).

The Irish got off to a tough 0-2 start but have quietly pulled it back together have won 7 of 8 games since, and finish their season with games against Boston College and at Stanford.

When in Death Valley, do as Les does

Willie Taggart got caught taking a page out of Les Miles' book this past weekend during their game against LSU.

A camera caught Taggart grabbing a free taste test from the Tiger Stadium. Judging from the smile on his face afterwards, it wasnt too bad.

Western Kentucky (5-5, 5-1) looks to finish their season strong with games at North Texas, and at home against Troy.

Great video with Todd Monken

Todd Monken spends 8 minutes talking about his relationship with Mike Gundy and how special this team and season are.

Great content in here. Talks about how hard it is to move on; but how important friendships are. Shares his thoughts on Gundy's growth as a head coach and how Monken has helped in that growth.

Worth watching all 8 minutes.

Video: D-III program earns first ever playoff berth

Sunday, DIII Illinois College, led by head coach Garett Campbell, learned of the first ever playoff berth in the history of the football program.

The Blueboys finished the season 9-1, with their only loss coming against Midwest conference champion Monmouth. The one loss record was good enough to impress the playoff committee and reserved them an at large bid for the NCAA playoffs.

Illinois College and has put up an impressive 499 yards per game under Campbell, and have been led by a freshman quarterback in Michael Bates.  The Blueboys offense rank in the top 15 offensively in scoring (15th), passing (15th) and total offense (5th).

Defensively the Blueboys rank 3rd in DIII in interceptions with an impressive 20 picks on the season (with 2 defensive backs combining for 11 interceptions), and also rank in the top 10 in turnover margin at +1.40. Impressive job by defensive coordinator Ray DeFrisco.

Illinois College will take the field against Wabash Saturday. Take a look at the video below showing their reaction once they found out they had made the playoff field.
