#HailState in the endzones?

This one comes from the, oh...no...they...did...not category.

Mississippi State hosts the Egg Bowl Saturday night at 7 on ESPNU. Dan Mullen has won the last two meetings in this sometimes bitter rivalry. And yes, this will be Houston Nutt's final game on the sidelines for Ole Miss. But this story is about something entirely different...

Mullen and Athletic Director Scott Stricklin are a fairly media savvy group (yes, a few years back if one had said that people from Starkvegas were media savvy you would have been laughed off the Internet).  They use Twitter well, and apparently want to get more of the Bulldog Nation using Twitter.

OK, here comes....checkout the pic below. Yes, they have painted #HailState in the endzone. For those of you not familiar, that's the twitter hashtag that alerts people to the fact that you love Starkvegas and cowbells. Very interesting marketing ploy.

One last thought, we're pretty sure that 99% of the people in this great country believe that Mississippi State will win this one (Ole Miss is really struggling); but if by some chance the Rebels were to pull this one out...oh dear goodness...

"Never Again"

"Never Again" has been the battle cry posted all over the Alabama locker room since last season after giving up a 24-0 lead in an eventual  28-27 loss to rival Auburn.

Alabama strength coach, Scott Cochran has used the "never again" cry throughout the off season as motivation leading up to this weekend's rematch. Starting in the winter, signs were distributed in each locker, and for the players to put in their room for the constant reminder to never get comfortable.

The top of the motivational poster has the score when Alabama was up 24-0, and at the bottom is Auburn's Cam Newton and Nick Fairley celebrating with the final score in the background.

Auburn enters this weekends rivalry 7-4, 4-3, while the Crimson Tide are hoping to keep their national title hopes alive and improve on their 10-1, 6-1 record.

Video: Nobody does it better than USC

On the field they are one of the best; but when it comes to creating videos nobody does it better than USC.

Watch and enjoy.

Oh, and yes, that was a great win for Lane Kiffin and his staff.  Sanctions...what sanctions? The man won't have any problems recruiting kids to play for him.

Urban issues a very soft denial

This morning, Urban Meyer spoke with long time friend and Gainesville journalist Pat Dooley

Meyer said he has not interviewed for the Ohio State job and never interviewed for the Arizona job.

On Ohio State his words were, "I'm in a good place right now mentally and physically. So if something happens with Ohio State, I'll have a decision to make. But there has been no interview. There has been no offer to make a decision about."

Later in the discussion Urban added, "I love football, it's what I am. I miss it."  Followed by, "If there is a decision to be made concerning Ohio State, there will be a lot that will go into it. But right now, there is no decision to be made."

Nothing is certain; but that sure does sound like Urban's headed to Columbus once there is a decision to be made.

Regarding the Arizona "interview", Urban said, "It wasn't an interview. [Arizona AD Greg Byrne] wanted to talk and he's a good friend. We talked about other coaches who might be good fits for the job. He asked me if I had any interest and I told him I did not."
