Video: Navy's trailer for 2012

Navy is the latest school to use their off season workout highlights as a trailer for their 2012 season, and this one is very well put together.

The video guys did an outstanding job mixing in their off season work with some inspiring highlights of last season to create the finished product below.

Cincinnati D-Line drill tape

Some very good drill tape out of Cincinnati with defensive line coach Steve Stripling working the defensive line. Last season the Bearcats finished #2 in the nation in sacks (3.46 per game) and #1 in tackles for loss (almost 9 per game), and judging by this video, we'd say their off-season / Spring work is a big part of the reason why they are so successful in the Fall.

There's no audio, but there's some impressive practice drills in here of the guys putting in work.

Mic'd up at Western Michigan

Western Michigan had one of the most impressive passing offenses in the country last season, ending the season ranked #8 (337 ypg) in passing offense and #19 (458 ypg) in total offense. This installment of their "Inside the Lines" series focuses on quarterbacks coach Ryan Cubit.

Cubit talks about the advantages of coaching the quarterbacks in the same system that he played under, what they've been able to change, and why they don't expect to be in third and long situations very often.

Bobby Petrino hospitalized after motorcycle accident

Word just broke this morning that Bobby Petrino was hospitalized overnight following a motorcycle accident last night. At this time we have not seen any updates on his condition. We have reached out to contacts at Arkansas and will update this page once we know more. We're hoping all is well.

Update> Joe Schad just tweeted that while Petrino is "pretty banged up" that his injuries are non-life threatening.

We've seen another report Petrino has multiple broken ribs, all kinds of cuts and bruises and sprained his neck.

10AM Update> Arkansas has now released a statement saying that Petrino is in stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery. They did not comment on his injuries.

Rebuilding an FCS program

Has anyone noticed the job that Trent Miles has done rebuilding the Indiana State program over the last four seasons? In short, it's impressive.

After the 2007 season, Miles was hired to rebuild what at the time was considered one the worst FCS programs in the country and it seemed like they hadn't won a game in years...

In the 2011 season, Miles' team went 6-5, missing the playoffs by one victory (would have been their first time in the playoffs in nearly 30 seasons). Wins over Western Kentucky and Youngstown State last season were huge for the program. Over the last few years, the Sycamores have built a brand new football operations building, added new turf to the stadium, added a new practice field, installed a new video board at the stadium, etc...times have changed at Indiana State and this program will continue to improve. In fact, one source we spoke with said there is even talk of building a new on-campus stadium.

Hard to believe the change in just 4 years.

One of their players sent us a link to this video they created recently. Guys are getting after it in the off-season. Big future ahead for the Sycamores.
