Anytime that Wright Thompson publishes an article for ESPN or ESPN The Magazine, get comfortable, grab a chair and dig in.
Earlier today, Thompson released an article that talks about Urban Meyer the man, as well as the coach. Interestingly enough, the article includes some of the books that make up Meyer's library and the impact that they impacted his coaching style.
Overall, Thompson provides some great insight into what drives Meyer, what makes him tick, and plenty of stories behind the media headlines of the past few years.
We could try to summarize it; but that truly wouldn't be justice for this one. When you have a few minutes, take a look for yourself.
The team meeting room at Northwestern recently got a major face-lift. All of the work you see in this video was done in two days...total cost we hear was around $20,000.
As you can see in the time lapse video above, players entering the meeting room for the first time during fall camp seemed pretty excited about the new look.
We hear Northwestern plans to keep things fresh throughout the season by using some Fatheads on the walls. Word is the first one up is of defensive backs coach / assistant head coach Jerry Brown back from his playing days. Great way to keep things fresh (and keep the players attention) without spending a lot of money.
Update> Teddy Greenstein of the Chicago Tribune just tweeted this picture of the new look as you approach the football facility. Again, cool new look without a major investment. We like it.
