The video Dana showed his team before rolling Marshall
Yesterday Dana Holgorsen's West Virginia team put up 69 on in state rival Marshall.
Here's the video they watched pre-game...It worked!
D-III offense puts on a passing clinic
Eureka College (IL) and Knox College (IL) put together an offense display yesterday, but in the end it was Eureka quarterback Sam Durley and the offensive staff that stole the show.
When it was all said and done, Durley went 34 of 52 for an impressive 736 yards, and engineered the game winning touchdown with under 20 seconds left in their 62-55 win over Knox.
The passing yardage sets a single game NCAA record, surpassing the mark of 731 set in 2000 during another D-III contest.
Durley's passing yards were more offensive yards than top 10 teams Michigan and Alabama combined for during their game. Even in yesterday's most lopsided victory, Oklahoma State only put up 682 yards of total offense against Savannah State (an 84-0 landslide), still 54 yards short of Durley's passing yardage.
With time running out, the offensive staff decided to put the ball in Durley's hands for the win, and here's how it played out.
Obviously still "in the zone" afterwards, Durley noted that he thought that he was hovering around the "high 300's" when the final horn blew.
Bielema: "This was one of the most beneficial teaching tools"
Bret Bielema is hoping that the Badgers narrow 26-21 victory over FCS opponent Northern Iowa will teach them more than if they had blown someone out to start off the season.
"You've got to touch a hot stove once. Once you get burned, you're not going to do it again. And hopefully our guys learn, hey, you've got to put people away when we can." he explained afterwards.
"To me, we get a lot better out of this than a 42-0 blowout. I don't see what that gets. I know our fans, it kept them in their seats."
Northern Iowa has been an FCS power during recent years, winning at least 7 games every year dating back to 2003, including a ten win season last year. Back in 2009, the Panthers lost to Iowa and Iowa State by only a point each.
The Wisconsin defense played well for most of the night, up until the last part of the third quarter. Up until that point, the Badgers hadn't allowed UNI to cross midfield but in the fourth quarter, the Panther offense put together a few long touchdown passes to close the gap and make the last possession count.
"I told our guys any win is a good win, but this was one of the most beneficial teaching tools we could secure.
"Wisconsin football may not be the prettiest thing to watch, but we get W's" Bielema noted.

Impressive D-III intro video
Leading your team out onto the field to the roar of 75,000 screaming fans during your intro video, is a pretty special moment. Unfortunately, D-III programs don't get that kind of welcome, but that hasn't stopped the guys at Wisconsin Lutheran from putting together a pretty impressive highlight video.
Dr. Dennis Miller is in his 13th season at the helm at Wisconsin Lutheran, and is the only head coach the program has ever known. The staff has done a great job with such a young program. In fact, last season the Warriors snapped a 16 game conference winning streak for defending Northern Athletic Conference champion, Benedictine (IL).
Later today, Miller will lead the team on the road to take on Ripon (D-III - WI) in a match up of teams that finished 6-4 last season.

Interesting intro video at Arizona State
Arizona came out to this intro video yesterday in Tempe and rolled to a 63-6 victory over Northern Arizona.
The Arizona State staff put together an offensive gameplan that racked up 554 yards of total offense (with only four incomplete passes thrown all game) and a defense that allowed only 2.5 yards per rush and also managed to pick off three passes. Time of possession was almost split directly in half as Northern Arizona held the ball for 29:44 and Arizona State had it for 30:16.
Bryan Harsin mic'd up at Texas
Second year co-offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Bryan Harsin gets the mic'd up treatment during a recent practice in the clip above.
Harsin spends the first part of the clip harping on mechanics to his quarterbacks before moving on to coach up the rest of the skill players later on.
Plenty of great coaching points and lines throughout the clip including the following line while working with a quarterback.
"Just like that right there... Your like a PEZ dispenser right now, just spitting 'em out."
