Bob DeBesse mic'd up at New Mexico

Another good mic'd up session from New Mexico this time with offensive coordinator Bob DeBesse, who joined Bob Davie's staff from Sam Houston State. The Bearkats made it to the national championship game last season before falling to North Dakota State 17-6.

Plenty of quality instruction in this one with everyone ranging from the quarterbacks to the running backs and receivers.

Rich Rod pokes fun at old CBS colleagues

While getting his workout in, Rich Rod took a moment to razz some of his old colleagues at CBS.

It's always nice to see the lighter side of Coach Rodriguez.

"I act like I'm enjoying this, but I'm really not. I am miserable, but I like to eat. So this allows me to have dessert after dinner." Rodriguez explained while on the StairMaster.

Freshmen (and incoming) should watch this video

Miami football has an ongoing series called "Raising Canes" which is extremely well produced.

The episode released today focuses on a few freshmen and how they deal with the first day of classes and their first scrimmage.  A lot for these young men to handle and a lot of good learning points (for players and for their coaches) in here.

Idaho football going independent

Pending Idaho State Board of Education approval, Idaho will transition to an FBS independent in football, and will have its other sports join the Big Sky conference.

As an independent, Idaho must schedule five home games with four of them against FBS opponents. In all, they have to play at least 9 games to keep an FBS status.

"If we’re going to play independent football, a lot of those decisions have to be made in the next month to two months. If it doesn’t look like we can secure a schedule for us at the FBS level, then we’re going to have to make other decisions. We’re being aggressive in looking at options there. We’ll see what happens." University President Duane Nellis explained.

As their schedule sits right now, they have Northern Illinois scheduled at home in 2013, and will travel to Ole Miss, Wyoming and Washington State.

With all the conference shifting that has taken place, it sounds as if the plan is to compete as an independent and secure a conference affiliation within the next few years.

"New environment. Same details. Tradition prevails." - Andy Buh

When Andy Buh joined the Wisconsin staff as the linebackers coach back in January, he took over a unit that returned members of the all Big Ten team.

With a lot of new faces joining the Badgers, the theme for the off season had been "transition". As Buh explains in the team meeting room, the message to the team for the summer was "New environment. Same detail. Tradition prevails."

Solid t-shirt material.

Hear Buh break down the meaning of that message, piece by piece, in the clip.
