Butch Davis puts out an interesting video

This morning Butch Davis released a wide ranging video discussing his history and experience, how he runs his programs, what went on at North Carolina and his future.

The nearly 10 minute video is extremely interesting. Coach addresses a number of issues head on and very direct.

Pat Hill talks about making changes

Pat Hill addressed the media yesterday for the first time since Randy Stewart decided to step down as defensive coordinator. Fresno is having a challenging season and currently is 3-7.

Hill said the decision to step down was 100% Stewart's. "It got to the point where he (Stewart) didn't feel like we were playing the way we had to play" Hill said. Tim Skipper will face Hawaii in his first game serving as the interim defensive coordinator.

Hill says in 15 years as the head coach at Fresno he has never fired a coach.

The Bulldogs have lost 3 in a row (and 5 of their last 6) and will look to get back on track against Hawaii, San Jose State and San Diego State.

Peyton on Ole Miss job: I'm 0-10 as an assistant

Co-chairman of the search committee, Archie Manning, plans to leave no stone unturned in the search for the next head coach at Ole Miss.

Archie said that he has even received a handful of emails from people suggesting that his son Peyton retire and take the helm of the Rebels. When Archie told Peyton about the inquiries, Peyton's response was to tell them "I'm 0-10 as an assistant with the Colts". Archie did add that "Peyton, some of his teammates and a couple of coaches put their heads together and recommended a few people."

Eli Manning's input was simply "Get a good one".

Archie says that he isn't going to divulge names, but also said that the school has no shortage of qualified candidates.

"A proven name (as a head coach) is good, but at the same time, every head coach out there has been an assistant at one time. So it wouldn't be wise for us to look away from assistants. We're looking at everyone, even in the pro ranks."

The five member search committee is being aided by the search firm of Eastman and Beaudine out of Texas.

For what it's worth, Mike Leach reports that he has not been contacted by Ole Miss.

Derek Dooley explains why he didn't show the video

Arkansas hosted Tennessee on Saturday and sent them back home with a 49-7 loss. By most accounts, Arkansas played at a very high level and just wore the Vols out.

Following the game, Derek Dooley chose not to review the film with him team.

See the video below for his thoughts on why he did that.

Notre Dame quietly 7-3

As we noted earlier in the year, the Irish have been able to get the job done on the ground this season.

We saw a tweet this morning saying that the Irish's 23 rushing touchdowns are 1 shy of their combined rushing total for the previous two seasons.

Running backs Cierre Wood and Jonas Gray have combined for 1,637 yards through ten games, and it's possible for the Irish to to end the season with two 1,000 yard rushers (Wood currently has 907 and Wood has 730). Clearly offensive line coach / running game coordinator Ed Warinner and running backs coach Tim Hinton have found what works for the Irish.

The ground attack is clearly working; but the passing game isn't struggling either (ND has 19 passing touchdowns, compared to 23 via the ground game).

The Irish got off to a tough 0-2 start but have quietly pulled it back together have won 7 of 8 games since, and finish their season with games against Boston College and at Stanford.

When in Death Valley, do as Les does

Willie Taggart got caught taking a page out of Les Miles' book this past weekend during their game against LSU.

A camera caught Taggart grabbing a free taste test from the Tiger Stadium. Judging from the smile on his face afterwards, it wasnt too bad.

Western Kentucky (5-5, 5-1) looks to finish their season strong with games at North Texas, and at home against Troy.

Great video with Todd Monken

Todd Monken spends 8 minutes talking about his relationship with Mike Gundy and how special this team and season are.

Great content in here. Talks about how hard it is to move on; but how important friendships are. Shares his thoughts on Gundy's growth as a head coach and how Monken has helped in that growth.

Worth watching all 8 minutes.
