Video: Taggart and the staff call this for the win in OT

For those of you that didn't catch this on Saturday, Western Kentucky pulled off the win over Kentucky in overtime by going for 2 instead of kicking the extra point to send it into double OT.

To get the win, Taggart and the staff pulled this one out. Gutsy call, and very well designed.

Joker Phillips gave credit for the call and explained that they came out in man to man to defend the attempt, "We're in man to man coverage and the only guy you don't have a man accounted for is the quarterback. Great play."

"We've got high SAT's, but the wristbands threw 'em for a loop"

Saturday at Michigan State, Brian Kelly opted to use wristbands to get the offensive plays in because a former Irish staff member was on the Spartan sideline.

Kirk Herbstreit explained during the game that it's the first time in over a decade that Kelly decided to use wristbands over hand signals on offense. The first offense play from scrimmage resulted in a penalty, and Kelly decided to call a time out as the team approached the line to run the second play.

During his post game press conference, Kelly joked about the wristbands and how difficult they were to use for a bunch of guys with high test scores.

"Offensively, we're going through some of the growing pains that I had talked about. Heck, we had wristbands this week, and the first play we couldn't even read the wristbands."

"We've got high SAT marks, but for some reason the wristband thing threw 'em for a loop." Kelly noted.

Stanford Video: Live in the moment

Good video here from Stanford showing the game day atmosphere against USC.

Before the game on Saturday, David Shaw told the team to go out there and "live in the moment, enjoy the moment, and take the moment over."

That's exactly what they did. The Cardinal went out and held USC to 26 yards on 28 carries (.9 yards per rush), and allowed only 280 yards total, while racking up over 200 yards rushing and 200 yards passing themselves on their way to the 21-14 victory.

Great job by the Stanford staff putting together an impressive game plan.

Former NFL coach speaks to HS - Now off to 4-0 start

Before the season, former Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams made the trip back to his old high school, Excelsior Springs (MO), to talk to a team trying to rebound off of a 2 win season.

Under head coach Andy Sims, the team is now off to a 4-0 start, including a week 3 win over former state champion, and Missouri football powerhouse, Richmond HS.

Sims, who previously served as the linebackers coach at Central Missouri (D-II), took over a program that had previously struggled to win seven games over a four year period.

Sims and his staff seemingly have the program turned around and are off to a fast 4-0 start against some quality competition.

Below are plenty of highlights from their big week 3 win over Richmond. You can tell there's a lot of excitement in Excelsior Springs.

Video: Buffalo State beats Wisconsin-Whitewater

Buffalo State travels to the #1 team in Division III Wisconsin-Whitewater and comes away with a thrilling victory.

Buffalo State got the ball with 1:35 to play with only one timeout and trailing 6-0. Facing a 4th and 19, they call a hook and double lateral. Then with under 10 seconds to play, facing a third and goal, they find a man open in the corner of the end zone...snapping Wisconsin-Whitewater's 46 game winning streak.

Highlights are up top and analysis below from Pat Coleman of D3Football.com

Video: Team awards O'Brien the game ball after the win

Good post game locker room footage here following Penn State's 34-7 win over Navy.

After noting that they're on the right path, and to use this momentum heading into their week 4 match up with Temple, the team awards the game ball to Coach O'Brien before breaking things down.
