How would Bob Knight have responded to these post-practice questions?

Bo Pelini fielded questions from reporters immediately following Monday morning's practice. Pelini exhibited a great deal of restraint in responding to what seemed to be a long list of largely irrelevant questions.

Watch the video of Pelini meeting with reporters here.

Below, we are listing a few of the questions Pelini responded to:

Question #3: Can you tell with the day off if the boys were a little fresher today?

Question #5: Bo, how was the unity council selected and how do fans find out who’s on it?

Question #7: How much more does the intensity get turned up for you guys when you go twice a day?

Question #8: Do you get more work done with the 2 go’s?

Question #9: When it comes to the Texas game, not from an opponent’s standpoint, but from an official visit standpoint, it seems like it’s becoming the popular game that kids want to come to. Do you have to manage that situation even before the season begins?

We wonder how Bob Knight would have responded to some of these questions?

Renderings of new TCU stadium

Gary Patterson has done his job.  Starting in 2005, TCU has gone 11-1, 11-2, 8-5, 11-2, and 12-1.

Your reward, Coach Patterson....a $105 million stadium renovation.

TCU has announced a $105 million renovation of the west side and north end zone of Amon G. Carter Stadium to better enhance the football fan experience, upgrade amenities and transform the historic Fort Worth icon into the "Camden Yards" of collegiate football stadiums.

Construction will begin immediately following TCU's final home game (Nov. 13 versus San Diego State) in the 2010 season. After construction, Amon G. Carter Stadium will have a seating capacity of 40,000 that can be expanded to more than 50,000 seats.

You can see all the renderings of the new stadium right here.  This certainly looks first-class.

Shannon: We're a lot better than we were last year at this time

During today’s post-practice meeting with reporters, Miami (FL) head coach Randy Shannon told reporters, “We are a lot better than we were last year at this time.  Guys are focused, a lot more mature.”

A year ago, the Hurricanes suffered a number of injuries to key players throughout the year.  It appears Shannon is taking more of an NFL approach this season, saying he will hold out of practice certain key players at times this year.

When asked by a reporter why a certain player didn’t participate in this morning’s practice, Shannon responded, “I’ll let yall guys know if a guy is going to be done for the season.  I always do. To cut down on all the ‘is this guys practicing (questions)’…fellaz, guys are going to sit down because of nicks and injuries.  Some guys we are going to sit out because we don’t want them to practice, we want to see some other guys.  It’s like the NFL.  Some guys like McCarthy ain’t gonna practice today. Sean Spence won’t.”

Miami opens on Thursday night September 2nd against Florida A&M.  The Hurricanes travel to Ohio State in week #2.

Jimbo Fisher mic'd up

Over a week into camp, head coach Jimbo Fisher seems very pleased with the kicking game.

Fisher stated, “I like our kickers.  We have athletic guys to cover.  Our long snappers, we got 3 guys battling for that job, doing a good job.  We got great return guys in my opinion.”

Defensive coordinator Mark Stoops said, “(We have to ) Be consistent.  There is definitely talent out there, but we don’t want to see flashes.  We want to see consistency.”

Earlier in the week, Fox Sports had Jimbo Fisher mic’d up during practice.  This mic’d up session is pretty good, especially near the end.

After a players' day off on Sunday, Florida State will practice twice on Monday.  The Seminoles will host Samford University on September 4th to start the 2010 season.
