As part of the ongoing "Wounded Warrior" project, Under Armour has decided to outfit Hawaii and Boston College in a set of stars and stripes laden uniforms, being called "Freedom Jerseys" for one game.
Boston College will wear their white version for their October 27th match up with Maryland and Hawaii will wear their darker version for the November 24th against UNLV.
We hear that the helmets, uniforms, gloves and cleats will all follow an American flag theme and phrases like "honor" and "courage" will fill the name plate on the back of the uniforms.
After the game the jerseys will be auctioned off with 100% of the proceeds going to the Wounded Warrior project in order to raise awareness and funds for injured service members in need.
Take a look at the uniforms below. Thoughts?
Sonny Dykes wins quote of the day

La Tech coach Sonny Dykes asked today about BCS. “I do not even know how to spell BCS. That is like miles and miles away from our thoughts."

Sonny Dykes has his Louisiana Tech team 5-0 and looking forward to a big game Saturday night against Texas A&M.
Louisiana Tech is ranked for the first time since 1999. The Bulldogs have put up 44 or more in each of their first five games.
After A&M, Louisiana Tech hosts Idaho, then travels to New Mexico State, hosts UTSA, goes to Texas State, hosts Utah State and then closes it out at San Jose State.
A lot of football left to be played; but Sonny has done a great job with that program.
Paul Johnson explains why he let Al Groh go
Published: Monday, 08 October 2012 17:56
This morning Paul Johnson decided to make a change. You can listen to him explain his decision making above; but in short Johnson was highly complimentary of Al Groh; but decided that for whatever reason the players were having a hard time implementing Groh's schemes on the field and that forced Johnson to make the change.
A quick look at one key stat behind Johnson's decision...Groh came to Georgia Tech as defensive coordinator prior to the 2010 season. That season the Yellow Jackets were 57th in scoring defense. In 2011 they slipped to 60th. This season they have plummeted to 89th.
Secondary coach Charles Kelly will now "run the meeting" and the rest of the staff will adjust responsiblities as well. Special teams coordinator Dave Walkosky will now also coach the defensive line. Defensive line coach Andy McCollum will move to inside linebackers and inside linebackers coach Joe Speed shifts to outside linebackers.
During his press conference, Johnson was asked if he viewed this opportunity as a bit of a tryout for the defensive staff to be retained or even to serve as defensive coordinator moving forward into next season...his response was left open to interpretation; but we didn't sense much excitement on that front from Johnson...then again we rarely sense much excitement from Johnson.
