Mora: When in doubt...follow your rules, do your job
It's game week, and Jim Mora is, understandably, starting to play things a little closer to the vest.
Mora told reporters over the weekend that he would not address injuries or changes in personnel because their week 1 opponent (Rice) is likely keeping close tabs on them.
"I'm not going to comment on injuries, I'm not going to comment on who's playing where, I'm not going to comment on who practiced well."
"That would be really ridiculous for me to do in light of the fact that our opponent is going to read your stuff and watch it." Mora told the reporters.
Mora noted that, because they lack any recent film on the Owls, they're focusing this week has been on educating their players and making sure they follow their rules on the field.
"I think what's really important in this first game, anytime that you're going into a first game and you don't have a whole lot of information on the team that you're playing, because there is no film from this year, is that you follow your rules."
"You primarily worry about yourself and taking care of your job and doing your job. If you get in a situation where it's something that you haven't seen, your rules should carry you through the play. As the game goes on and we figure out what their plan is and how they're trying to attack us, then there's things that we can adjust."
More quality nuggets from Mora in the clip below, including his plan on whether to script a handful of plays for the opener.

"We no longer coach effort, now that's a culture here"
Good look here at Florida State associate head coach / special teams coordinator / running backs coach Eddie Gran and the multiple roles that he plays for the Seminoles.
One interesting note that Coach Gran brings up is that, now in the coaching staff's third year, they no longer have to harp on effort during practice.
"Now, we're not coaching effort. That's done, now that's a culture here. Now what I get to coach is technique. The little things that help you become the elite and become a champion."

Sean Payton speaks to the North Texas players
It's 21 minutes of Sean Payton. Sit back, grab some popcorn and your favorite beverage and enjoy.
Motivational talk; but Payton includes plenty of real life humor as expected. One of the more humorous lines opens with, "I called my friend Jon Gruden, I called him up and I said, 'Gru-dog...man we just gutted this [6th grade] team...'".
