NFL releases (preseason) schedule

Who here likes meaningless football? Anyone? No? Bueller?

Well, if you like seeing the NFL imitate midweek MACtion, or are just plain starved for some pigskin on TV, the NFL is ready to oblige with Thursday's release of the 2013 preseason schedule.

The preseason slate will officially get underway on Sunday, Aug. 4, with the Hall of Fame Game between the Dallas Cowboys and Miami Dolphins. Kickoff is slated for 8 p.m. ET on NBC.

Ten other games have been picked up for national TV thus far: Cincinnati at Atlanta (Aug. 8, ESPN), San Diego at Chicago (Aug. 15, ESPN), Tampa Bay at New England (Aug. 16, Fox), Indianapolis at NY Giants (Aug. 18, Fox), Pittsburgh at Washington (Aug. 19, ESPN), Carolina at Baltimore (Aug. 22, ESPN), Seattle at Green Bay (Aug. 23, CBS), St. Louis at Denver (Aug. 24, CBS), New Orleans at Houston (Aug. 25, Fox) and Minnesota at San Francisco (Aug. 25, NBC). 

The World Champion Baltimore Ravens will begin preparing for their title defense some time between Aug. 8 - 11 at Tampa Bay.
