'There is no tweak to stop the inside zone'
- by Doug Samuels 2015 years ago
The inside zone play is a staple of nearly every spread offense, and many other offenses in football today. The spread and the inside zone go together like peanut butter and jelly, or peas and carrots.
Alabama is one of those teams that have mastered the inside zone scheme. When you get five 300 pound lineman moving bodies in unison with a talented stable of backs behind them, it's extremely difficult to stop. Just ask any defensive coordinator that has faced them.
