Fedora explains how sanctions affect recruiting and 'The Freak Show'
- by Doug Samuels 1 year ago
Like every other staffs around the country, Larry Fedora and his staff at North Carolina have spent countless hours in the film room and on the phones recruiting since the season ended. The only difference for them is that they have no margin for error.
As Fedora explained to the guys on CBS Sports, because of the sanctions and reduction of scholarships, his staff has a much smaller margin of error.
"We can't make mistakes. We have to do a tremendous job of evaluating kids, not only as players, but also the character that they have." Fedora explained.
"We can't make mistakes. We don't have scholarships to lose and we've done a great job of managing that at this point."
Then, towards the end of the clip, Fedora talks about their camp structure and notes that they'll invite their elite prospects to a one day camp that they've dubbed "The Freak Show".
For the record, that's one camp that we'd love to get a t-shirt from.
Take a look at the Video of the Day to see the very well done "Fedora's Freak Show" clip that the UNC video department put out early in the season.
