Director of equipment operations Todd Hewitt explains that Southern Cal is one of only five elite schools in the country (we bet you can guess at least one other school on that list) that get stuff that other schools can't get their hands on, and players and coaches also serve as testers for new products that Nike plans to roll out.

That fact alone is a solid recruiting pitch for a kid fresh out of high school.

Hewitt also explains that Nike designed a shoe exclusively for players to wear during their walkthroughs.
