VIDEO: P.J. Fleck takes a polar plunge for charity
When P.J. Fleck was hired as the Western Michigan head coach in December, he pledged at his introductory press conference that his program would live by the phrase "Row the Boat". What no one could possibly know then was just how seriously Fleck would live that phrase.
Fleck took part in the 2013 Kalamazoo Polar Plunge to benefit Special Olympics Michigan on Saturday, donning nothing but shorts, shoes and "Row the Boat" written across his chest. Fleck's wife, Tracie, who gave birth in December, followed right her husband into the freezing pond.
Fleck hasn't coached his first game yet in Kalamazoo but, if he can get his wife to follow him into teeth-chattering waters in February, he can surely get his players to follow him onto the gridiron in September.
