Video: 'The backbone of good recruiting is your current players'
Excellent video here from Miami's signing day and "the backbone" of their recruiting efforts. As Al Golden explains, the backbone of any great recruiting effort lies in your current players.
"On signing day, I know there's always a lot of talk about who the good recruiters are, but the background of any organization, as it relates to recruits, are our players."
"It's really one of the most overlooked aspects of the recruiting process. Players connecting with recruits," Golden explains. "The relationships that they establish and the communication in which they answer recruits questions is invaluable to a recruit and their parents, and ultimately has a great impact on what happens on signing day."
You can see the excitement in the players faces when recruits announce their decisions in the clip because they have invested their time and energy in the process as well.
Good stuff in here that every program can take note of and benefit from.
