The Longhorn weight room gets major facelift

Texas has had one of the best weight rooms in the country for the past 15 years, according to head strength and conditioning coach Bennie Wylie. Recently, the Longhorns decided to update it with a face lift, and the changes are pretty sweet.

Not only is the facility now more functional, with equipment and a layout that matched the visions of Wylie, and assistant AD for strength and conditioning Jeff Madden, but it's also got some sweet bells and whistles to wow recruits including a 50 yard indoor field located directly above the stadium, and chromed out plates with the Longhorn logo on them.

"If you come to Texas, we are guaranteeing that you will get the best out of your body. Whatever God put in, we will help you get out." Wylie promises.

Here are a couple screen shots from the video tour, and the entire video can be seen on the Texas website. Take a minute and see the impressive upgrades and hear the confidence that the staff has in the new additions.

Doug Samuels has been with FootballScoop since 2011. Samuels joined the FootballScoop staff after serving as a college scout as well as an assistant coach at the college level, where he was fortunate enough to have coached every offensive position by age 24. Samuels is lifelong Michigan State fan and has admittedly enjoyed the past few seasons when he has been able to look forward to quality football the entire fall, instead of anxiously awaiting college basketball after the first few weeks of the college football season.
