VIDEO: A D2 school may have the best recruiting pitch in college football
Division II Missouri S&T is a long way from the NFL. This is a fact head coach David Brown and his staff do not shy away from. Rather than promise future pro football dollars to recruits, his program pitches prospects on the dollars they will make in the real world with a Missouri S&T
"Basically, come to S&T so you can graduate and go make a lot of money," Brown said to us.
The video leads with that sales pitch and doesn't quit - a ticker continuously craws along the bottom of the screen stating the average starting salary for graduates from each of Missouri S&T's programs.
Ranked among the top 100 engineering schools by U.S. News and World Report, Missouri S&T says its graduates walk in to jobs paying $60,000 on average, the second-best among all public universities in the U.S. Depending on the major, many Missouri S&T grads may walk into jobs well above that figure.
Oh, and with a 10-1 record in 2012, the Miners do a good bit of winning, too.
Recruiting is about connecting with kids and offering something that your competition can not. Missouri S&T may have just struck it rich with this video.
