'Our recruiting focus is anywhere you can get on a tank of gas'

For new Temple head coach Matt Rhule, making sure that Temple is a top local option for area recruits has been one of his main focuses since taking over just over a month ago.

Rhule joined Tom Lemming over the weekend to talk about the direction of the program and their recruiting focus, and loves the fact that he's familiar with the entire roster from top to bottom, as he helped finish off last years class as the recruiting coordinator.

Describing their recruiting focus and the rich talent pool that surrounds them in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, Rhule said that they focus on two to three hours from campus, or "basically anywhere you can get on a tank of gas".

Doug Samuels has been with FootballScoop since 2011. Samuels joined the FootballScoop staff after serving as a college scout as well as an assistant coach at the college level, where he was fortunate enough to have coached every offensive position by age 24. Samuels is lifelong Michigan State fan and has admittedly enjoyed the past few seasons when he has been able to look forward to quality football the entire fall, instead of anxiously awaiting college basketball after the first few weeks of the college football season.
