Over the past few years, the staff at Northview high school down in Florida has built one of the best small school programs in the state.

Following back to back years of being knocked out in the state semi-finals, they found a way to break through and win the 1A state title 42-21this past Friday.

Below is a video chronicling the type of effort it took from their guys in the off season to reach that "next level". There's no shortcuts if you want to make it to the top.

Doug Samuels has been with FootballScoop since 2011. Samuels joined the FootballScoop staff after serving as a college scout as well as an assistant coach at the college level, where he was fortunate enough to have coached every offensive position by age 24. Samuels is lifelong Michigan State fan and has admittedly enjoyed the past few seasons when he has been able to look forward to quality football the entire fall, instead of anxiously awaiting college basketball after the first few weeks of the college football season.
