'Seniors can leave a legacy by showing young guys how to practice'

After practice yesterday James Franklin, now entering his third year at Vandy, talked about how the coaching staff has emphasized the importance of leaving a legacy to their older players.

Franklin explained to the media that he told senior receiver Jordan Matthews that not only can he leave a legacy of his on the field accomplishments, but it's also important to show the younger guys how to practice, and that's something that will have an impact for years after he's graduated.

"To me, that's the point that you really want to get to as a program from a culture perspective, when the older guys are teaching the younger guys and it just creates a cycle. It's a positive cycle of body language, of actions, of fundamentals, and how to practice."
