Former NFL coach speaks to HS - Now off to 4-0 start

Before the season, former Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams made the trip back to his old high school, Excelsior Springs (MO), to talk to a team trying to rebound off of a 2 win season.

Under head coach Andy Sims, the team is now off to a 4-0 start, including a week 3 win over former state champion, and Missouri football powerhouse, Richmond HS.

Sims, who previously served as the linebackers coach at Central Missouri (D-II), took over a program that had previously struggled to win seven games over a four year period.

Sims and his staff seemingly have the program turned around and are off to a fast 4-0 start against some quality competition.

Below are plenty of highlights from their big week 3 win over Richmond. You can tell there's a lot of excitement in Excelsior Springs.

{module 174} Doug Samuels has been with FootballScoop since 2011. Samuels joined the FootballScoop staff after serving as a college scout as well as an assistant coach at the college level, where he was fortunate enough to have coached every offensive position by age 24. Samuels is lifelong Michigan State fan and has admittedly enjoyed the past few seasons when he has been able to look forward to quality football the entire fall, instead of anxiously awaiting college basketball after the first few weeks of the college football season.
