Rebuilding an FCS program
Has anyone noticed the job that Trent Miles has done rebuilding the Indiana State program over the last four seasons? In short, it's impressive.
After the 2007 season, Miles was hired to rebuild what at the time was considered one the worst FCS programs in the country and it seemed like they hadn't won a game in years...
In the 2011 season, Miles' team went 6-5, missing the playoffs by one victory (would have been their first time in the playoffs in nearly 30 seasons). Wins over Western Kentucky and Youngstown State last season were huge for the program. Over the last few years, the Sycamores have built a brand new football operations building, added new turf to the stadium, added a new practice field, installed a new video board at the stadium, etc...times have changed at Indiana State and this program will continue to improve. In fact, one source we spoke with said there is even talk of building a new on-campus stadium.
Hard to believe the change in just 4 years.
One of their players sent us a link to this video they created recently. Guys are getting after it in the off-season. Big future ahead for the Sycamores.
