D-III Playoffs: Is there really even any reason to type this? For the seventh straight season, the championship game will be Wisconsin Whitewater vs. Mount Union. 

D-II Playoffs: Pitt State beat Delta State and Wayne State beat Winston Salem State. Thus, it's Pitt State (a 2 seed - coached by Tim Beck, 2008 FootballScoop D-II Coordinator of the Year)) vs. Wayne State (a 6 seed, coached by Paul Winters, one of the finalists for the Akron head job) in the championship game Saturday Dec. 17th. In a related note, we're speculating that Akron will name their next head coach on Monday December 19th. 

Coastal Carolina (FCS): Early word out of Conway, SC is that some folks at Coastal would like to see Steve Spurrier Jr. get his first opportunity as a head coach at Coastal.  

Eastern Illinois: We have been told that Dino Babers has offered the defensive coordinator role to former Akron defensive backs coach Kim McCloud. 

Olivet College (DIII - MI): The three finalists for the Olivet college head job are Jake Moreland (tight ends at Western Michigan), Dan Pifer (offensive coordinator / special teams coordinator at Trine) and Tyler Haines (offensive coordinator at Adrian College). 

Texas Tech: We have been told that one of Tubs' longtime guys Terry Price will be joining the staff as defensive line coach. 

Rockford College (DIII - IL): GA position at D-III Rockford College, Rockford, IL; must be available to begin in January. Email resume and materials to . Applicants must provide the following: undergraduate GPA and GMAT score if you have taken it.

Kansas: Although the contract hasn't been finalized, reports put Charlie Weis' deal around $2.5 million per year for 5 years (before additional incentives). That's serious money. His wife and daughter (who will continue to live in Florida) will also reportedly have unlimited use of a private plane to shuttle them back and forth as desired. 

Everett Withers: Everett Withers, who did an outstanding job at UNC, has multiple offers. We expect him to make a decision within days. 

UCLA: Five years, $12 million guaranteed for Jim Mora Jr. 

Houston: With Kevin Sumlin gone to A&M, Tony Levine will serve as interim head coach for the bowl game. Houston says they will perform a "national search". 

Nebraska: Reconfirming what we told you on Sunday, sources close to the program again telling us that Bo Pelini will elevate current defensive line coach (also special teams coordinator and recruiting coordinator) John Papuchis to defensive coordinator. 

Akron: Sources close to the program tell us the finalists include Paul Winters, Mike Johnson, Pat Narduzzi and one other person we have not confirmed. 

McDaniel College (D-III - MD): We hear longtime head coach Tim Keating is stepping down. 

Illinois: Tim Beckman plans to bring most of his staff from Toledo; however we are told that if offensive coorinator Matt Campbell gets the job at Toledo that some of the coaches might stay. We'll keep you posted. 

Eastern Illinois: We are told wide receivers coach Mike Lynch will be retained. 

Texas A&M: We have been told to look for an announcement of Kevin Sumlin to Texas A&M later today. 

UCLA: We have learned that Jim Mora Jr. will be named head coach. 

Villanova: Defensive coordinator Mark Reardon has accepted the head coaching position at St. Augustine Prep in New Jersey. 

Texas A&M: Multiple outlets in College Station are reporting that Kevin Sumlin will become the new head coach today. 

Penn State: Sources tell us Duke head coach David Cutcliffe has spoken with representatives of Penn State.
