Mel Kiper names top 5 players for 2011 draft
Mel Kiper has released his top 5 players for the 2011 NFL Draft.
Kiper lists Jake Locker, Andrew Luck, Robert Quinn, A.J. Green, and Adrian Clayborn as his top 5 in order.
On October 30th, Stanford visits Washington. According to Kiper, Luck will battle Locker for the first overall selection in the 2011 draft. That’s if the Luck, a sophomore, decides to leave Stanford early.
During PAC-10 media day, Stanford head coach Jim Harbaugh stated, “He’s so good. I know a lot of it has to do with mom, dad, God, and that he works so hard at it. He comes with no red flags. There is no weakness to his game. Great arm strength, physical, can throw it 70 yards taking one step. He’s a brilliant kid, not just book smarts, but football too. We’re glad he’s on our team.”
Kiper also says if a sophomore is to make a run at the Heisman Trophy, it will be Virginia Tech running back Ryan Williams.
