Lane Kiffin: I miss having more players

After Pat Haden and new president Max Nikias addressed the team to express their support, Lane Kiffin led the Trojans through their first practice of August camp.

Kiffin said, "They both spoke to make sure we understood expectations and that they were behind the team."

Spectators were absent from the traditionally crowded practice-field sidelines due to the new USC practice attendance policy.

"I noticed (the difference with no spectators) the first 10 minutes. After that, I didn't notice. It doesn't have anything to do with coaching."

“It was refreshing to say the least for our players and our staff to be out here."

"I never really feel different. Someone asked if there were butterflies. There really weren't. It's the same goal, the same door, the same coaches. (Most) is the same, except I miss having more players."
