Video: Arkansas State is 'Building a Monster'
- by Doug Samuels 5 months ago
Arkansas State, now on their fourth head coach in four seasons, knows a thing or two about fighting through adversity and winning ball games.
While this may be Blake Anderson's first head coaching gig, it's clear that he's got a very clear plan laid out to try to take Arkansas State to the next level. That mission is what they've dubbed "building a monster," and with a combined 28-11 record under three different head coaches, an excellent foundation has been laid.
While the schemes and terminology have changed, it's clear that these guys understand hard work and the type of intensity and effort it takes to be successful. Anderson and his staff now just need to put their own spin on things and provide the guidance, make their expectations clear, and provide some leadership.
"The people that won't put themselves out there will never realize how good they can be." Anderson explains at the end of the clip.
"You've got to be willing to put yourself out there, and be willing to fail, to have a chance to ever be great."
I'm excited to see the type of product that Anderson and his staff are able to put together in the fall, and the kind of impact they will have at a program on the fringe of doing some very big things.
