Willie Taggart got snubbed

Last night's bowl announcements weren't filled with a whole lot of surprises, but one team that was left on the outside looking in was Willie Taggart's Western Kentucky Hilltoppers.

The Hilltoppers lost their first four games of the season, before winning seven out of their next eight games to finish 7-5. Their only loss during that stretch came at the hands of LSU.

Taggart nearly quadrupled Western Kentucky's win total since 2009 (0 wins in '09, and 2 wins in '10), and has done a tremendous job turning the program around and getting it back on track.

Last week the NCAA granted UCLA a bowl waiver to allow them to play in a bowl with a 6-7 record...and thus the great story that is the 2011 Western Kentucky team has come to an end. That's just not right.
