With student attendance booming, Kingsbury creatively thanks fans

Not only has Kliff Kingsbury revitalized the Texas Tech program in terms of an undefeated record and a national ranking, but the Red Raider student section is also booming. So much in fact that one section of the stadium that was previously reserved for the visiting band, will now be taken over by students.

According to the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal, the capacity for the student section at Tech is 12,577, and the Red Raiders are exceeding that capacity by nearly 1,200 students by averaging 13,750 students at games (109% of their current capacity). That number trails only Texas for student attendance within the Big 12.

In order to thank the fans for the support, Kingsbury took out an ad in the Texas Tech newspaper yesterday to make sure the student body is aware of how much the team appreciates the support.

Iowa State comes into Jones AT&T Stadium on Saturday, with kickoff scheduled for 12pm EST on Fox Sports 1.
