Playoff Selection Committee: The AP is reporting that Pat Haden (USC/Pac-12), Jeff Long (Arkansas/SEC), Dan Radakovich (Clemson/ACC), Barry Alvarez (Wisconsin/Big Ten) and Oliver Luck (West Virginia/Big-12) will be members of the selection committee. Does it really matter who is on the committee?

FAU: Armando Murillo has joined the staff as on campus recruiting coordinator / director of player personnel. Murillo played at Nebraska when Carl was there serving as defensive coordinator.

USC: Fox Sports is reporting that, after letting Lane Kiffin go, the school offered to bring former Cal head coach Jeff Tedford on as a consultant and recruiter. According to the report, Tedford declined the offer and is focused on finding his next full-time position. Following practice today Ed Orgeron confirmed he offered a position to Tedford and that Jeff declined.

Livingstone College (D-II - NC): Sources tell us defensive line coach Rodney Simmons has left the staff for personal reasons and will not return.

Dirk Koetter: The Atlanta Falcon's Offensive Coordinator reveals only to X&O Labs why he considers Four Verticals a horizontal concept; how the "Stop" route by Outside Receivers can be more productive than the "Comeback"; how you should vary routes for your Single Back to make him the most effective receiver in the package; and other details he's never told about his offense. Chattanooga (FCS - TN): Chattanooga has an opening for a home game on 9/6/14. Looking for an FCS, or DII Game. Willing to do a Home and Home.
