Getting it done with 45 guys on the roster
- by Doug Samuels 2 years ago
Jeff Pedersen is in his second full season as the head coach at D-III Grinnell College in Iowa and has done an impressive job. Since Pedersen's arrival, the Pioneers have almost doubled their win total from the previous three season (6-24 before his arrival and 11-9 since). Included in the 11 win total, was a 17-15 road win over nationally ranked Monmouth in 2010.
Possibly, the most impressive part of the turnaround is that Pedersen has been able to do this with only about 45 guys on the roster. We asked a couple of coaches about the program and each told us they see nothing but upside from here for Grinnell Football.
We noticed that they created a video highlight of their first spring practice to help create some excitement on the recruiting trail.
Even though these guys can't pad up in the spring, you can see it isn't stopping them from getting after it. Expect this program to continue to rise up...
