The uniting power of high school football

On the horrific night of April 17, Trojan Field, home of the West High School football team, served as a staging area for injured citizens in the wake of a nearby fertilizer plant explosion that ultimately took 15 lives. Five months later, the rebuilt Trojan Field serves as a rallying point for the Central Texas community to heal as one and move forward.

The Trojans lost their home opener on August 29, 41-7 to Little River Academy. But in reality, West won simply by taking the field.
