Video: Bo Pelini awards seven walk-ons with scholarships

Seven Nebraska walk-ons wrapped up fall camp on Saturday morning in the best way possible.

Following practice Bo Pelini announced that the dedication and hard work of seven walk-ons would be rewarded with a scholarship, and although the moment didn't come with a lot of hype from a team meeting as we often see around this time year, you can tell that hearing those special words from their head coach still meant the world to these guys, and Pelini was happy to do it.

Pelini spoke why moments like this are one of his favorite parts of the job, and the proud tradition of walk-ons that Nebraska has had in Nebraska's official release.

“They put in such hard work and obviously they don’t have all the luxuries or the advantages being on scholarship financially, and obviously they are on the football team and have the same requirements as kids on scholarship. That’s what makes this program special and different, the walk-on tradition continues and it will continue forever.”
