Tyler Siskey - University of Alabama

2013-CoY-180x225FootballScoop is proud to announce that Tyler Siskey (Alabama) as the 2013 FootballScoop Director of Player Personnel of the Year presented by ProGrass.

It's certainly no secret that the South is the gold mine of college football recruiting, and no one knows the lay of the land better than Tyler Siskey.

Tyler Siskey

After spending four seasons as wide receivers coach at Arkansas State, Siskey joined Hugh Freeze at Ole Miss - taking a position as coordinator of recruiting development. In one year's time, Siskey built what many hailed as the greatest recruiting class in school history, pulling in consensus five-star recruits Robert Nkemdmiche, Laquon Treadwell and Laremy Tunsil.

The Rebels' class was rated seventh nationally by Rivals, fourth by 247Sports, fifth by ESPN and 10th by Scout. Put simply, it was a class that positioned Ole Miss for success for years to come.

Prior to this season, the gold standard recruiter joined the gold standard program in recruiting - Alabama and staff members there say he has done nothing but improve "the process".

Siskey has proven the ability to identify and deliver the right type of talent for the program lucky enough to employ him, whether it be a Sun Belt team, an up-and-coming SEC program or a 10,000-pound behemoth.

A 2000 Troy graduate, Siskey worked as a student assistant before landing a graduate assistant position at Northwestern State in 2000-01. He then transitioned to a GA position at Arkansas State in 2002-03 before taking a defensive coordinator position at St. Paul's Episcopal School in Mobile, Ala. Siskey moved to offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach a year later, where he remained before taking the wide receivers position on Steve Roberts' staff at Arkansas State.

The FootballScoop Coaches of the Year awards presented by ProGrass are the only set of awards that recognize the most outstanding position coaches in college football. The finalists (Robbie Liles - South Carolina, Mark Pantoni - Ohio State and Siskey) were selected based off of nominations by coaches, athletic directors, and athletic department personnel.

Siskey will receive his award and be recognized at an event at the AFCA Convention.

Siskey is the inaugural winner of the FootballScoop Director of Player Personnel of the Year award winner.
